Some are recyclable , some aren’t.

And a major source of micro plastics is those bottles that do get recycled.

Recycling plastics was a propaganda ploy from the oil industry to reduce consumer resistance to using plastic in lieu of glass bottles or aluminum cans.

Better a local landfill that shipped overseas only to be dumped in the ocean. trump wants everyone to start using plastic straws again.

SOME plastic gets trashed, but a good many get recycled. Still worth doing!

A friend of mine informed me of this disturbing reality about 20 years ago. I didn’t want to believe it at first, but a little research proved her statement was true. Plastics manufacturers LIED to everyone when they claimed that their products were recyclable. Now, it’s evident we are being slowly poisoned by the leaching of plastics into, literally, everything. We’re even inhaling micro particles of plastics! They are killing us softly, but nonetheless, many will die as a result of the toxins. It’s way past time that global leaders should have united to BAN single use plastics and very tightly regulate all manufacturing of plastics and legislate that a verifiable method of recycling be invented. Additionally, littering of plastics ought to be penalized with a hefty fine.
