while the field rats in rural Ontario are exceedingly rare, we do get mice and I use my 45 YO Victor wood mouse traps with crunchy peanut butter. Works wonders.

It cracks me up that he’s freshly grating the cheese. No pre-bagged for that rat, only the good stuff!

This is how I got rid of a mouse. I set him a plate for several nights with cheese and almonds (after discovering it wanted nothing to do with the more usual peanut butter) and then put cheese in a small clear live trap and escorted him out.
