I remember that you’d see barrels of kites in the local shops come spring. I live by a windy park and can’t remember seeing anyone flying a kite in years.

Those “history fanboys” know they can still find the best selection at ‘The Kite Store’ in Provincetown, Mass.

The tree almost always got Charlie Brown’s kite. I saw many more kites when our family went on vacation at the Jersey shore.

Where I live in Texas, we don’t have but a few windy days. It all gets saved up for hurricane season. It is famine or feast.

When I was a kid, my 2 brothers and I would make our kites using newspaper, sticks and glue or tape. We used rags to make the tails.
