one of my favorite quotes was by Paul James the Gardening Guy. when asked if he could be a plant what would he be, his reply was he wouldn’t want to be a vine because vines grow up
I always say that I have to grow older, but I refuse to grow old.
I’m enjoying — and not surprised by — the comments here from those who still watch cartoons; for me, my love of comics strips and cartoons is a package deal. Most of my cartoons on DVD were purchased on the cheap at thrift stores, and I’m slowly making my way through them. And two weeks ago my wife and I enjoyed the annual Bugs Bunny Film Festival at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, MA. Eighty minutes of cartoons on the big screen, in 35 mm.

I prefer to use the term “animation”. It sounds much more mature and discerning than “cartoon”. Like SpongeBob SquarePants animation.

To quote Dave Barry, “What I look forward to is continued immaturity followed by death.”

It’s what I am doing right now. Minus the beer. A Coke Zero works for me.
