When I first saw the “Dog Eat Doug” comic strip, at that same time here in Tulsa, Oklahoma, there was an incident involving a chocolate Lab and a baby. A teenage girl had a baby and she stayed with the baby’s father’s family. One morning the girl had fed the baby and left him in the kitchen when she left for school. The baby’s father went to work, The baby’s grandfather didn’t go back to the kitchen and didn’t know the baby had been left there. Well, because the mother didn’t clean up her baby, the dog killed the baby by trying to eat the food on it. UNLIKE THE NEWS STORY, Sophie, the dog in this comic strip, has only licked food on Doug’s face and head,
