Ah, it took me a while but now I get it. When we see a whale stranded on a beach, it’s just trying to get a tan.
The green backhoe was, pardon the expression, a red herring having nothing to do with the joke, tho the John Deere comment above might be correct.
Nice try but too much work to be very funny.
I love and usually “get” BC, but as a land-locked Coloradan, this one is just too subtle for me.

the joke would have worked better if this creature looked more like a whale than a shark, and if he mentioned getting a tan on the beach. :o)
it would also be better if it had more boxes or had color. happy earth day.

If it is a whale, it is an ORCA, the only whale with that kind of nose and that large a dorsal fin
