The reply probably took 6 weeks to get there. The navy can’t be far behind.

Do they have laws against treason, I wonder.

If they’re 6 weeks from the next shore, how did Peter get a response the next day?

You’re falling down on the job, Hart …

    Don’t be so literal - it’s a comic strip.

I wonder what will happen when our greetings from earth reach some other inhabited world - will we face the same problem??

The question was answered— Flash Gordon, of all places.

Ming the Merciless informs Flash that Earth might be better off if we weren’t quite so adventurous. Being hidden and unknown has its advantages, amongst others we wouldn’t have Ming coming here trying to sack the place because he wouldn’t know about us.

Now, as it is, we have a space vehicle headed out into deep space. We have to hope that whoever finds it isn’t bent on coming here and raping our cattle and stealing our women.

Or using the human race as a source of organ replacement parts as depicted in the UFO TV series from the sixties. Wasn’t the story of “V” about aliens who came to the Earth to take our water resources and using its people for food.

I know Soilent Green was people but that wasn’t done by aliens.

That is why the Constitution requires Congress to “maintain” a Navy. It only says Congress can “raise” an Army. Originally, the Army would only exist in wartime but you can not just build warships in 6 weeks or have trained sea going warriors that fast.

“Only in B.C. do the rock slabs used for writing float on the top of water.”

Don’t you see: Peter = St. Peter = the Rock? He walks on the water (Mt 14:29).

    lol.
