cleokaya I need one just about every morning. When you suffer from a sleep disorder (I have DSPS) It causes me lack of sleep so my body just doesn’t want to get up in the morning. DSPS means Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. I have had this since I was a little boy. Of course maybe one of doctortoon’s nuclear coffee might work. Guess I’ll have to ask him.

    What do say doc.

Good morning everybody. I just got home so I’ll read my comics until I wake up in front of the computer. I hate when I do that.

Breakfast looks great. I would like to add a few cinnamon buns and some sliced fruit. I may just eat everything in sight. I didn’t have supper last night and didn’t feel like buying anything at work.

Hi Wolfbyte. I’ve enjoyed your posts on some of the other sites. The one time I tried any of Doc’s coffee, it melted my cup and was running off down the street, disolving everything in sight.

Welcome Mr Spock. Better prepare for unlimited illogic here.

Doc love your new avatar. It is just too cute.

Greetings to everyone here. I don’t know if I’ll be back today but I’ll try. Don’t want anyone to forget me.

Good morning and Happy Sunday. docT get everything back to normal at work?

Welcome to the new people - hope you enjoy the food and conversations.

I just saw on BBC America today it looks like they are having a John Barrowman marathon starting with his first Doctor Who appearance and then some other Doctor shows he’s been in (but I don’t see the one where he gets the ability to never die)

I like today’s strip. Yesterday I went to the chiro since it’s been a while. Luckily I didn’t sproing, but I did make all the other noises.

Spock, I saw you at Overboard today. You must be new, eh? As doc, said, you’re still looking pretty good, LOL!

    Morning everyone!

Glad your first day back wasn’t too bad, doc..

Dry - I actually have had great success with chiropractors. The only thing that annoys me is they want you to come in on a regular basis for adjustments and I will only go when I have an obvious need for their help. He will chastise me, which makes me not want to go.

I really like my chiropractor. I found him when I was in a lot of pain with my back - was taking Advil several times a day to help. Went to a different one first who did help, but the office staff wasn’t organized so when I felt good enough I stopped going, but then the pain started. I went to this one what seemed like once a week for a while until the pain was gone. Now I just go back a few times a year for an adjustment and to hear his health theories. They are a little off the wall, but I bet one day they will be more mainstream.

Cleo I agree with your stand on chiro. My chiropractor has a good approach: he has patients mark off on their forms what method they prefer - regular visits, or like me: maintenance only. I go when I need it, and they don’t bug me about setting up regular appointments.

My favorite off the wall technique from him was when he offered free screening for allergies. It’s been a few years since I had that done, but basically he waved his hand over me while while going through possible things I could be allergic to. I got a list, and if I ever win the lottery (of course I have to play it), I’ll probably give him some money to see if he can sure all them.

Yesterday we talked about blood type diets. I don’t know my blood type so I can’t try that.

A lot of the stuff he has talked to me about, I do hear in other places, and just because it’s different doesn’t make it wrong.

My wife went to a chiropractor once that had her sit in a chair with a sort of electric coil that came down around her to “realign her body’s magnetic fields” we never went back to that one.

Then there’s the ones that get into the homeopathic stuff. Do the math on it, and there is at best a 1 in 10 chance that your dose may have a single molecule of the original substance, the rest is just water…

Best chiropractor I ever had (unfortunately he reitred) was of the opinion that if he couldn’t fix your issue in 2-3 visits, it wasn’t something chiroproactics should be messing with and would refer you to the appropriate specialist (orthopedic, etc.) He’s also the only one I ever had that actually took x-rays at the initial visit to get a clear picture of what your spine was really doing…

I do credit my current one though with being the first to catch my high blood pressure and referred me to my family doctor to get it checked out.

These guys are the good ones that are often hard to find these days…

My chiropractor took x-rays and is very good. He just makes me feel guilty every time I go in. I would probably go in more often if he didn’t do the guilt trip.

Dry - You don’t trust chiro’s? I’ll give you the old cleo adjustment on my special 15th century stretching rack. It’s guaranteed to add inches to your height. LOL

Anyway….I dislike apartment living. Here on the East Coast they think you should be Martha Stewart and supertidy. Back in Texas I was never bothered as long as I paid my rent. Here….they’re like Nosy Nancy’s. Sigh Hanging on, I’ll be back to the best state in the Union soon enough.

Guess I’ll chime in about chiropractors, too. I believe, just as in any profession, there are the good ones, and then there are the quacks (and many in between). Our chiropractor always takes x-rays at the initial visit, and whenever else it is warranted. My hubby has had neck problems for years, and the chiro has done a lot, but the deterioration of his disk got to the point, where he had to have surgery. But considering that it was about 20 years between his initial chiro adjustment and surgery, I think the chiro helped delay the surgery by a number of years. Being the klutz that I am, I’ve done some things that moved things to where they shouldn’t be. Y’all remember just a couple months or so when I messed up my left hand? It was the chiropractor who straightened it out. He usually wants me to come in every 2 weeks, unless I’m in bad shape, and then it is oftener. But since I live about 30 miles away, I only go in when I feel like it, and they don’t hassle me about it the next time I’m in. I’m with DFrog though on many of those “natural” supplements many people (including chiros) push. I’m not saying they are harmful, but that they are overpriced, and their claims are dubious. I guess I’m one of those people who would like a double-blind experiment with the substances before I put much faith in them. Many times, they just seem like products for mult-level marketing, where making money is the prime object.

After being away from my own church for two weeks, I returned to find out that the church nurse who treated me when I fell by icing my elbow and putting a sling on my arm fell herself two weeks ago and broke BOTH elbows and her left wrist. Like me, she is left-handed.

Imagine trying to walk with TWO arms in a sling.

Now one arm is in a sling, and the other has a cast on it. She fell when dog who was tied up outside a grocery store ran in front of her and she trip on it’s leash.

Hi everybody! Sheesh, lots of prayers and happy going out to all our wolves. :) Shika, I can sympathize with your friend from church. I was playing football with younger siblings and my dog ran out in front of me and a bit it hard. But I was OK. I got up and kept playing, and I’ll be damned if the stupid dog didn’t run in front of me again. I can’t imagine it felt good to have all 190lbs. of me tripping over him, but he just keeps running in front of me. I guess that makes me the stupid one for not watching where I was going. lol.

Hey Shika, nice to see you back. Skin so soft doesn’t do diddle with mosquitos. Everyone talks about how it repels those pesky biters, but I haven’t noticed it having any effect. The best bug repellent I have found is “Deep Woods Off.”

carmy - I haven’t tried Cutters. Deep Woods Off works so well for me that I do not feel compelled to change. I like that it doesn’t stain clothes, it isn’t sticky and it works. Hmm, maybe they should pay me to do a commercial.

The gimmick I was referring to was a link within the text rather than an actual link or mini-url. It’s something I saw used over on Pibgorn and wanted to try it out. Dreamland Chronicles is computer graphics done by Scott Sava. He’s in Nashville, TN. It’s really top quality art and storytelling. It’s worth a look-see. Go back to the beginning to catch the drift of whats happening.

I am going to bed this time. Good night, all.

cleo and Carmy And I’m sure that the pesticide is harmful only to the skeeters. ;-)

I just can’t bring myself to spray deadly pison on my skin. But then, I’ve never been that bother by skeeters, especially at the cottage. The Great Lakes are wonderful for their breezes off the lake which discourages the pests. And they don’t like me anyways.

Maybe I smell like Deep Woods to them.

Another thing happened at my church while I was away. One of our associate priests thought he had indegestion, but his wife disagreed and called an ambulance.

That night he had a triple bypss. Two arteries were 100% blocked, and one artery was 90% blocked. He’s never had heart trouble, and isn’t overweight or anything.

The doctor was amazed he didn’t have a full-blown heart attack by now.

    Miracles happen.
