I found some French Toast left by Moonsinger last night. Goes well with Bbig’s fruit.

4th day of vacation…one day left. Man, I need 2-3 weeks in a row to get stuff done. But I did make progress. I went through my turtlenecks and casual winter clothes and bagged up the stuff that doesn’t fit/doesn’t look right/ I just don’t like for Goodwill. Kitchen is still pretty clean and slowly becoming uncluttered. My desk is a wreck…nothing new there.

Got to run now, have a busy afternoon with stuff I like to do. I still have to troubleshoot the vacuum cleaner…it won’t suck. Sigh……if it’s not one thing it’s another.

@SHIKA for when you get here. i’m glad your trip to your Dad’s hometown went well. i’ve been going through similar feelings the last couple of months. i had to help my Dad sell the “family homestead” (after he’d lived there since 1963) and the closing date just happened to be my birthday. talk about mixed emotions! it was for the best, however, and i hope the young couple who bought it get as many happy memories from it as my family did. Quaby, it sucks when your vacuum doesn’t! Check the drive belt and if it is intact run an unbent hangar carefully up the hose and see if that helps. Beyond that, if you have a filter check to see if it is all plugged up.

hi carmy no, actually i’m near Toronto, living in Canada’s First Suburban City (to quote from the ad campaign of the early 60’s). i don’t usually worry about hurricanes since we usually get only the peripheral effects, but i pay more attention now, since my nephew lives in New York. stay safe!

Hi Tabby! Boogie boarding is fun, I don’t swim real well, but I did that at OC,MD many times. Never surfed, you can surf there if the waves get high enough. I saw people doing it. Of course, it’s probably considered “sissy” by people on the West Coast (yeah, you know who I’m talking about!) LOL!

tabby Over the course of the day I spent close to 3 hours talking to Verizon technicians to get my internet back up only to discover it was their tower. Found that thru the course of the 1st walk thru. The cell phones went out also. The 2 technicians were very clearly from India, and their names were GET THIS. . . DAVE and CHRIS!! ROFLMAO

They just put out a tornado warning for the next county over.

tabby, nah, I’ve ALWAYS been that way! I’ve pulled too many weak swimmers out of the ocean (and our water temp is 45-53 degrees!).

Hi All. Just a quick stop by to see who was here and what was going on. Some things might be better left unknown. Then again, how could I possibly get through the night without the latest. I don’t usually like to be involved in fights of any kind but last night I got into a minor squabble with a friend. It was nothing serious and was soon forgotten, but it made me remember a line I read somewhere. “Forgive yoour enemies, it”ll drive them crazy trying to figure out what you’re up to.” I just thought that was kind of cute.

Dry My day started with a doctor’s appt. (went well), then lunch at a friend’s house, home for 15 minutes, out for supper with two more friends, and we watched a major storm outside the restaurant blow the rain horizontally, and then came home to hear that a tornado ripped through about 5 km north of where we were.

Dry We don’t often get them in this part of the provence. The water was driving so hard, that my friend’s car was flooded, but only on the floor of the passenger side.

Of course, wearing sandels, I got a soaker. The water went over my toes.

We can’t figure out how it happened. the was no indication of how that water came in, and left the seat dry.

just got caught up on the posts, but i can’t stay too long. we’ve had weather up here today with a capital W! huge thunder storm with tornados in several very nearby areas. fortune smiled on me, though. except for a brief power outage at work (seconds long), i was completely unaffected, as far as i know at the moment. i have an aunt living quite close to where one of the tornados went through (blocks away) but haven’t heard that she was affected. saw some video on the web, and knew the exact area it went through. you could see parts of buildings going up, and flashes from high tension power lines being snapped. looked pretty scary. hope everyone is okay (here and with the tribe folks)

I have both the “Point of Know Return” and “Dust in the Wind” ALBUMS; so how’s that for being dated? And, JFri, they are excellent albums - though it’s been way too long since I’ve listened to either of them. NYAAAH

i never said they were “best ever” just that they were good (and my personal faves are Beatles, Led Zep, early Stones, and my all time favourite is The Guess Who - a little band from Winnipeg, that Shika has probably heard of).

yyy, EXCELLENT picks! Kansas was OK, it’s just that had to drag me kicking & screaming into that era of music! I was in SoCal a couple weeks ago driving around with the windows down and the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean blaring from the CD player! It was great!!
