scambed eggs with roasted red pepper and garlic
homemade granola

Doc & Pirate coffee
Juices
Plenty of fresh fruit.
Good morning and Happy Thursday!! I’m with Steve - a helicopter full of doughnuts and none on the menu. I guess I’ll try the scrambled eggs, they look interesting (and colorful) - thanks Cleo
Good morning all!
Lew, I think I could compromise: one donut, one mile.
Hmmm, we seem to have a very appetizing spread today. I think the crab omelet looks too good to pass, so I’ll try that and some of LWW’s hash brown casserole, thanks guys!
Good Morning, cleo naked corpsakaya, BigGhoul1313666, LoneWerewolf, Steve-the-undead, FrankenFri, Dementa, Lewreader, Dr. Jekyll, Tombtabby and Doctor StrangeToon!
Guess what? I can barely finish a cup of coffee!! I used to drink 2 to 3 cups in the morning. Please shoot me now!!
Undead Frog, Les Nessman, oh I LOVED THAT SHOW!!! That one with the turkeys still makes me laugh me a@@ off!!!Mr. Carlson saying “As god is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!”
Well I’m off until 1PM since the electric co. has the power turned off in our building for “enhancement upgrades” what ever that means! Going in at that time for a couple of hours is not gonna be fun!
Doc. – Glad your happy now, so are 2 of my kiddos with school closed today. Unfortunately the 3rd could care less since he was up sick all night. I will be happier if I can get this flu out of my house!
Doctor Strange Keep your snow to yourself please. I am just about to leave now to meet at the college for my trip north. I’d be ever so grateful if you keep the snow in CO.
Good morning Shrieka-Boo!. LoneWerewolf I am fine.
I think since Doc likes snow so much we just pass an ordinance keeping all snowfall in CO or in the states of posters who actually want the cold white stuff. And that said…I think WA should adopt the weather of Florida. :-)
I kept having these strange dreams about music, Bookers and FrankenFri talking to a naked corpse and Werewolf. I think Dr. Jeckyll showed up too.. Not to mention SNOW!
Where’d Doc go? He must be out playing in the snow! I better find somewhere to hide! Something tells me there’s going to be a giant snowball headed this way pretty soon!
@CarMummy, that fairy tale does lack a certain something, but I’m not quite sure how to add the struggle, the conflict, the growth in an appropriately brief form.
There are 3 pages of photos of kids in their costumes. Some of them are soooo cute.
If the link doesn’t work, go to msnbc.com and click on the link there.
I am SOOO PROUD of myself! We unplugged ALL the cords and wires to our central work station server in anticiaption of the power outage just in case of a power surge. I’m here by myself and I figured out to reconnect everything all by my little loneseome!
♠LoneWerewolf♠, remember the old saying: “There are old pilots [or favorite profession], and there are bold pilots, but there are very few old, bold pilots.
Okay - Drycula gets an exemption from s - - - today because of what she did on her own - yay, girlfriend! (♠LoneWerewolf♠ - you know exactly what (2) word(s) I mean! LOL!)
OMG i just remembered i have a history test tomorrrow!!!!!!!!! oh c r a p lord help me now.
so it is so very hot here like hot hot hot and humid as can be oh my word its humid. its killing me. it so hot i can hardly breath in here. wow. how are some of you getting snow and us heat like i mean heat open up the oven and jump in why dont we. gosh
i only have about 4 or 5 more pages of notes to type up then print out then highlight then make note cards and then look in the book for more information and then make more note cards then hightlight more and i feel my head ache coming back. SIGH i hate this.
dry can i call you dry? let me just tell you this. Around here. this part of Louisiana Is crazy. they dont give you recipts UNLESS you say hey i need or want my recpit. they dont bring change when pizza is delivered. the people are rude and they are just anoying. you cant walk out your house with out seeing some guy with his pants down to his knees and his boxers and but all hanging out. its quite gross. people drive like idiots. people litter like crazy and yet they all say “Louisiana is a great satate we love our state i would not leave it.” BULL HOVES
frome what i remember in class he said that it had something to do with the war. he said they people would sit around and just say “Munich” and they would know what they were talking about and that it was there only hope. What the happened there is what i wanna know. gosh i suck in history. sigh
And, TombT, I find that when there are lots of underlines in a url–which means that Gocomics will make a hash of it–it works better to embed the link: [text] (url), only without the space between the square bracket and the parenthesis.
thanks i will have to wait till the notes are done being typed. then i can do it. ill just skip that part for now and come back. as i have done already.
Oh, yes, when I was walking earlier, the frost was dropping from the sky and I thought to myself, “Gee, this is a nice frost. Less than a half inch of frost so far, and melting when it hits the concrete.”
I’d sing, “I’m dreaming of a White Hal’ween, just like the ones we used to have…” except it looks likely to melt tomorrow or the next day.
(Be kind to Drycula–she fixed her computer without help!)
so to whoever knows history…. about to see if i can get ahold of my old hist teacher….
when cordell hull stated “If goods cant cross borders, soldiers will.” he was refering to the refusal of using the “open door” policy. this statement was put into action wich therefore led to WWII. the great depression as well.
Hey Were, how’s my favorite wolf! I go with the hubs to the computer store and get bored silly, can’t figure any of that stuff out my own self and he’s in hog heaven!
Tomb if I could send some of the cold and snow your way I would! I just finished shoveling 3 ft of SNOW (shush, don’t tell Drycula) from the driveway and walks, and I’m done with it! Done with it, I tell you, DONE … WITH … IT! Altho…, it does look pretty if you don’t have to be in it.
@Tabby, the US did cut off oil and, IIRC, steel from Japan, so they attacked us to be free to take the Indonesian Islands from the Dutch and get their own oil. In that sense, cutting off trade did lead to war. On the other hand, Japan was already engaged in China, taking Manchuria in 1931 and a full attack in 1937. In the long run, US involvement to resist them was inevitable.
Hitler and Mussolini–I don’t think you can blame their aggression on lack of trade. It was more their own policies for Living Space or Empire (respectively). Once Germany and the Soviets made their treaty in 1939, war was (again) inevitable to stop Hitler’s expansion.
Hitler’s main motive was to put the people back to work during the depression. He was able to do that by building war machinery which was convenient since he had his eye on dominating Europe. His secondary reason for expansion was to push his “Final Solution” across Europe and then the rest of the world. Of course ALL of this fell in with his plans for the Third Reich, a 1000 year empire.
Terry now if you get to many bumps i will have to put you each in seperat corners of this tent. i mean it. dont make me pull this bus over. lol both of you are to funny.
I am not that funny but okay. i am just happy for walking buddy she finaly got enough of her c r u d y job and is quiting. :D so happy for her. and she is in a good mode. i got to see her for about and hour today and it made me in a good mode. so its a two for one. pluse i got to laugh at her fuss at her and joke with her. it was great. now i have you guys im doing good.
p.s. we are having chicken (grilled on the forman) for supper with potatoes for me. :) its in the sink now.
(Wow! And I thought that green was ghastly?? LOOK at that fuscia trim!! WHOOOWEEE!!!! Hope cleo nc knows what he’s doing with these colors!! Brush, brush, blot)
FrankenFri be careful with that paint! You just spilled that putrud looking color on me, and besides, if we make a mess, you know who will be here scrubbing and mumbling to himself! :-D
we’ll be careful Hymenoxis!
*Well the way I see it, that’s the only way she’ll get out of there, and then we both better run like he !!. I asked you to hand me the glue, why weren’t you paying attention to what I was doing? *
You’re just at the right level TURD! You put that Bookers above your head once, that’s okay, I’m just about close enough to smack someone somewhere that’ll make him drop that Bookers!
The chart speaks for itself. One can see that in 1932, the year before Hitler and Roosevelt came to power, Germany’s unemployment rate was at 30.1% and America’s was at only 24.9%. But within just five years, Germany’s unemployment rate was reduced to only 4.6% (1937) and dropped even further to only 2.1% a year later.
Don’t forget, tabby, we have had time to get interested and learn what we want to learn. Best way to study. Unfortunately, unless it matches the teacher’s interests or syllabus, it doesn’t make for very high grades…
As I am reading all the comments from 3 pages back (you yappy nuts) I would cook rather than have a delivered pizza. Our homemade pizzas make theirs pale in comparison.
FrankenFri & Drycual - I don’t know where you guys were painting, but it wasn’t here. I’m sure whomever you were helping was thrilled to have two such adorable and helpful monsters at their command.
Well, caught up finally. What a shame that FrankenFri & Drycula ended up at my neighbors house instead of mine. The family is Korean and the language coming out of his mouth, which I could not understand, sounded a bit like he was outraged. He did keep hiccuping though. The only word I could make out was Bookers. That is why I suddenly crave a large snifter, but paint free if you will. I have had enough paint for the day.
Was my neighbor naked? Sheesh and this is the truth. I bought a hot tub, then he bought one, I put in new steps and a deck down to the lake, then he did too. I then painted my house and he followed suit. So, I am not surprised that he had taken up painting in the nude.
I TOLD YOU WE WERE AT THE WRONG HOUSE, TURD! BUT OH NO, “THIS IS THE PLACE”, HE SAYS,” I KNOW THIS IS THIS THE PLACE”, HE SAYS! “TRUST ME”, HE SAYS! NOW WE’RE PROBABLY GOIING TO GET ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING! NOT TO MENTION VANDALISM! THANKS A LOT, TURD!
Just dropping in for a little boost from the tribal bank. Dad’s still in the hospital. They’re having a tough time keeping him in bed - he wants to WALK home!!!
Daughter-in-law #1 has a bad case of the flu so we are all hoping it doesn’t get worse and that she hasn’t shared it in the past few days. Time will tell.
A couple of names, I don’t recognize - of course, all Halloween has broken out since I’ve been gone so it stands to reason!
Anyway, thanks for the laughs - it’s good to be able to read these comments for even a few minutes.
Just a long day in a LONG week, Dry! I have now finished two exams, and now I have a quiz for tomorrow, plus, work at 6 am. So I’d best get studying now whilst I have the chance.
TABBY, THANK YOU! WHAT THE FRICK IS HE TALKING ABOUT? HE HAS THAT BACKWARDS, HE’S THE ONE WHO KEPT SAYING THIS IS THE PLACE! AND WHAT THE HE!! IS A GARMAN, TURD!!!
I DON’T NEED NO STINKIN’ GARMAN! I KNOW WHERE I AM AND WHERE I’M GOING! AND IF YOURS IS SO GREAT, HOW’D WE END UP AT THE WRONG HOUSE, TURD!? DON’T YOU BE BLAMING ME! WE WERE IN YOUR STINKIN’ TRUCK!
Turd has had too much Bookers! We were in a truck and I don’t have a truck! Cleo, he WAS DRIVING I SWEAR! NOW WHO ARE YOU GOING TO BELIEVE, SWEET LITTLE OLE’ ME OR HIM? (Be VERY CAREFUL how you answer that sir!)
Fri - You are definitely the innocent party. Dry must have been the map reader. I think we should sit down with a snifter and discuss her map reading disabilities.
TomTabby, you are sooooo right - just like an old married couple! ROTFL
Cleo at least Calgary has sun - unlike the coast! I won’t have to worry about the plants being watered out there ;>)
I just noticed I was eating a nice fresh Washington apple. It will be a few years before our apple tree has fruit so thanks for yours.
okay i am done typing my notes no on to the higlightign and craming. :0) not a tipical teen nope nope nope just one whos head has been exploding. DRy did you see your mes. i sent you somewheres back there?

*Well so far, a well beloved college football coach has been murdered! And some 19 year old girl was found dead in a car in the desert, and … . some of the coaches trophies are missing from his house and … . . *
Dry, yeah they are the midterms. I don’t have them all at once, and most classes have more than one. This wave is the “blowoff” classes. However, I need them all to be A’s, so I spend more time than I want to studying for them. FFri, what is Bookers?
I’m glad your dad is feeling fine & fiesty. That is good news!
I remember Mom thinking she was still able to drive. I told her she needed to improve her driving skills with her walker first. We had enough trouble with her thinking she could walk without anyone’s help. (She even needed help using the walker.)
The hospice nurse said Mom’s lungs are about 2/3rds full of fluid. Can’t be too much longer, I would guess.
I am currently waiting for maintenance to come unclog BOTH toilets! First mine went glub blub overflow, then my spouse’s. This is ridiculous. My theory is one of the kids upstairs flushed something they shouldn’t have, and since I’m on the bottom floor mine goes first. Sigh. Just what I wanted on a night I might have been able to get to bed early.
Who knows, I might still be here at changeover time… though I sincerely hope not.
Oh, it figures Dusty would try to hog the donuts, after all , they’re Krispy Kreams. It was 2 for the Big Top and 8 for the Tribe. Enjoy
Thanks, FrankenFri! It has been a long rough time since her first stroke. Mom used to be so independent, strong & creative. She went on several overseas mission trips (like the Grandma on Stone Soup). She sewed everything - I was in 7th grade before I had a store-bought dress, coat or swimming suit! If we wanted something sewn, but didn’t have a pattern, she’d use brown paper sacks and make one to use. During WW2, she worked at Boeing as an inspector, until she got engaged to my Dad (who worked there until he was drafted).
The last 2 1/2 years have been a very long grieving process, as she’s not been able to be the mom & friend I knew my whole life. It is so hard watching her get worse, and worse, and worse. I will be glad when she’s no longer trapped in that body and in heaven.
Thanks, cleo! My Dad died almost 8 years ago. That was hard, but this has been harder. One, because the final illness has been a marathon. Two, because I’ve been very close to my Mom. I’m the youngest of 5, but the only one married (for more than 3 months anyway), and the only parent. The two siblings who are with Mom now, lived out of state until after Dad died, (NJ & AZ). Therefore for 20 years or so, they usually only came home on Christmas. I’ve always been a “local” (or loco - depending on who you ask - snerk!) call, so I would talk to Mom almost every day, and see my folks once a week. She was there in the delivery room when I had my first son. So many memories!!! Thankfully, almost all good. (And none really bad.)
Doctor Strange, let them bring on the s - - w ! I’ll just hibernate through it all!
Just got up from another nap, I’m whipped and now queasy. The hubs reminded me about the clinician I saw last week at the hospital that said she was just getting over swine flu, but “wasn’t contagious” anymore. I hope so…
Rmom we’re praying for you and your family. My dad left us about 3 years ago and I have missed him every day since. I understand your feelings. My Dad suffered for a long time and now he is free from all the pain, but gosh I still hurt in my heart.
Rmomzilla - As tough as it was losing my parents, both instances were also two of the most positive moments in my life. I learned that I am a giver and can handle any situation without panic. I learned that I can cook a meal for a crowd of people and find it relaxing, because it took my mind off of what my parents were going through, I learned that certain relatives were much more positive and helpful than I would ever have given them credit for (making them very close to me now) and I learned that I can, even though I used to pass out at the sight of blood, wrap and pack an open wound better than any nurse. This is a tough time, but it is amazing would you will learn about yourself in the process. Hang in there.
Thanks, Mitch! I’ve missed Mom so much already, especially ever since she quit being able to converse much. With their marriage lasting 58 years, she was my mentor, especially for helping me learn how to love my husband & my kids (even when they are annoying!!!)
went help walking buddy bathe her dog. just got out the shower not dishes and bed with my notes. peace and love all. and where might i ask is marg did she delet her post or somehing you guys are playign with my mind.
Rmom you and your family are in my prayers. Thank God that my parents are both still alive, but I have had to watch my Grandma pass after a long battle with Parkinson’s and then there’s the cancer… not fun.
Thanks, cleo! I do have trouble with fainting, but at least that doesn’t happen during all the excitement, but afterwards when the adrenalin (sp?) stops. My Mom was a pretty strong woman - I only saw her totally flustered twice in my life. Once, when she totalled my 1965 Ford Mustang, and the other was on the day of my wedding. I’m thankful that I inherited a lot of her traits! My folks made me trustee of their trust & executor of their estate, so I’ll have a lot to take care of after she dies. I’m hoping with my CPA, lawyer & personal banker, that they can help me figure out all the hoops I have to go through, since that is all new to me. I’m not looking forward to helping sort through her stuff for an estate sale, either. I just keep telling myself, “Do not worry about tomorrow, today has enough troubles of its own.”
RMOMZILLA It’s not like they’re his/her. Our apartment has two bathrooms, so we each ‘have’ the bathroom closest to our bedroom. And it gives room for the assorted grooming products.
I lost my dad 20 years go. I almost lost my mom to the flesh-eating bacteria (no joke!) earlier this year. What’s killer is being so far from the family. I had to rely on phone reports and IM exchanges,
Rmomzilla - I am a horrible procrastinator. When my day died, my last parent, I was also the executor. I made it a mission to work on the probate every single day until it was done, a dreadful ordeal that I worked diligently at to finish of as quickly as possible. They also were collectors, some things worth a lot of money, some things junk. When I sold their house I was fortunate that the buyer was willing to give me an extra month to deal with their possessions. I had 8 three day weekends of garage sales and 8 weeks of dumpster pickups. I had to go through everything including years of greeting cards, because I would find money in some. Just set your mind and do what you can. There is always a tomorrow.
Dr. J - Considering your age, that’s about right. My oldest is 20, I had him at 30, and my mom had me at 35. I don’t remember 3 of my grandparents, because they either died before I was born, or when I was a baby. The one I do remember I only got to see when all the cousins were there too. I was the 15th out of 18 cousins, so I don’t remember any conversations with her, just playing with my cousins.
As my Mom frequently would say, “This too shall pass.” After I was an adult, I finally understood. The one thing about life, is that it always changes.
Rmomzilla Its amazing the strength we can find in ourselves. I’ve been around much older people all my life, so I have seen, and helped, a lot of people out of this life. Some not so easy, or willing, to go. I feel blessed by the families and their friends that were left behind. They were as much a support to me as I was to them, and most of them are still my closest friends.
Toilets are fixed, something in the t-junction. Anyway, it’s off to bed now, I still have to work tomorrow, working plumbing or not. Enjoy the changeover!
Cleo - I understand completely! I try not to procrastinate, but with so many demands on my time, it seems like it piles up faster than I can stay on top of things. The year after Dad died, we helped Mom move into her current house, which is a lot smaller than where they lived. We had to get rid of a LOT of stuff then, so that should help. (Both major packrats.) However, my sister has been living with Mom & being primary caregiver, but she is a real messie. Hopefully when she’s no longer having to take care of Mom, she’ll work on getting her stuff out of there. (My sis owns a “fixer-upper” house in town. Bought it shortly before Mom’s first stroke. So at least she has a place to take her junk!)
Cleo NC LOL! You could almost be describing my best friend’s husband! Korean, long hair, ponytail, quick to temper (over the right things) - but he also has the biggest smile and warmest heart in anyone I’ve ever met; you almost don’t notice the wheelchair after a while.
Well, I drank some chicken broth and I’m feeling much better. I don’t think anyone will be calling “soo wee” at me anytime soon. Time for bed, it was great having a day when I could chat! Love to all!
Cleo what do you mean?
Rmom, that’s how it is on my Dad’s side of the family. Larger generation gaps, never knew his dad, but his mom was the one that died last October. My mom’s generations are much closer ~20 years, both grandparents are still alive there, and I still enjoy their company as often as possible. Lucky me.
Well, I’d better head off to bed. I’m hoping I sleep a full night tonight. The storm front that dropped s_ _ _ on Doc came through here about 5:30am, (thankfully in the form of rain) and the thunder woke me up. I need more sleep than 5 hours!!
I myself am thrilled when dinner is over and the dishes are clean, those are the hours when I can kick back and be free of extra curricular activities.
no, I am not relaxed and free yet, I have work tomorrow at 6am, and then one last quiz. And then I will drink until I’ve forgotten all that I’ve learned this week :-D
At least you aren’t practicing my trait. I drink and forget what I learned as well, but I do it before the quiz. That is when you realize that you are an adult. It suddenly doesn’t matter anymore. :-)
Sorry I took a powder Cleo, but having just lost my father 6 weeks ago and remembering the night I found him and the life flight helicopter that took him to the hospital that night (which by the way has a flight path right over my home) I couldn’t stick around and be involved in the conversation. And I wasn’t the only one who feels this way.

Doctor Strange Keep your snow to yourself please. I am just about to leave now to meet at the college for my trip north. I’d be ever so grateful if you keep the snow in CO.
Thanks!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Good Morning Shrieka-Boo
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Good morning Shrieka-Boo!. LoneWerewolf I am fine. I think since Doc likes snow so much we just pass an ordinance keeping all snowfall in CO or in the states of posters who actually want the cold white stuff. And that said…I think WA should adopt the weather of Florida. :-)
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Cleo, and PA as well!
Shikamoo Premium Member about 15 years ago
I kept having these strange dreams about music, Bookers and FrankenFri talking to a naked corpse and Werewolf. I think Dr. Jeckyll showed up too.. Not to mention SNOW!
Yawn!
Well, I’d better get going.
PEACE AND LOVE TRIBE!
See you all on Sunday.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Shreika, have fun girl!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Cleo NC, I think we would need to get in line for that adoption request.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Shrieka–Have a great time and lots of fun dear!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Well, I do need to get some work done and I think I’ve done enough damage around here for a bit. See you all during myself inflicted coffee breaks!
;-)
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Shrieka - Toodle-oo. And…keep on dreaming.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Where’d Doc go? He must be out playing in the snow! I better find somewhere to hide! Something tells me there’s going to be a giant snowball headed this way pretty soon!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Right in the middle of the back, good aim! Geez!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Doc aims to please. LOL
johnnydoc5 about 15 years ago
Oh great a giant snowball fight, I’m going back inside to do some homework, and some housework. I don’t have time to play in the snow!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago

Pirate (Costume anyway) alert this week over at Retail!
bmonk about 15 years ago
I missed Shreika’s request for a bed-time story, so now I take the opportunity to offer the world’s shortest fairy tale:
Once upon a time they all lived happily ever after.
carmy about 15 years ago
Hi and Bye, Shrieka-BOO! Have a great time! Hello to Drycula, Doctor ST, Undead Frog, Cleo NC. LoneWW, ldyhwkd, RedHatt, Dr. Jekyll!
carmy about 15 years ago

Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Well good, Dr. Jekyll will be available for the Halloween Party!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Egg Nogg, I gotta stay away from it. It goes down to easily and is so full of fat. Now, I just wave it over my glass of booze.
bmonk about 15 years ago
@CarMummy, that fairy tale does lack a certain something, but I’m not quite sure how to add the struggle, the conflict, the growth in an appropriately brief form.
bmonk about 15 years ago
Oh, yes:
GOOD MORNING, (((ALL THE TRIBE)))!carmy about 15 years ago
bmonk Rasputin, It had a happy ending, that’s what counts!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Sorry bmonk Rasputin, I was so engrossed by your fairy tale I forgot to say HELLO!

Hi FrankenFri!
bmonk about 15 years ago
I was thinking, “Once upon a time they grew through their youth and lived happily ever after.”
The Duke 1 about 15 years ago
(No epic struggle!!)
bmonk about 15 years ago
@FrankenFri, most youths (teens) have plenty of epic struggles, at least in their own estimation.
bmonk about 15 years ago
@DocSTRANGE, you want exciting or long life?
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
See you later as usual Doc ST

aponreus/usrubberbandball
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
tabby google it, germany, WW2, do some research, I’m sure you wil find it very interesting!
bmonk about 15 years ago
Try this link to the Rubber Band Ball story…
And, TombT, I find that when there are lots of underlines in a url–which means that Gocomics will make a hash of it–it works better to embed the link: [text] (url), only without the space between the square bracket and the parenthesis.
tabbylynn about 15 years ago
thanks i will have to wait till the notes are done being typed. then i can do it. ill just skip that part for now and come back. as i have done already.

Hello again Tribe!
Back from the ‘puter store. Actually got all I needed this time.
Whazzup?
bmonk about 15 years ago
Oh, yes, when I was walking earlier, the frost was dropping from the sky and I thought to myself, “Gee, this is a nice frost. Less than a half inch of frost so far, and melting when it hits the concrete.”
I’d sing, “I’m dreaming of a White Hal’ween, just like the ones we used to have…” except it looks likely to melt tomorrow or the next day.
(Be kind to Drycula–she fixed her computer without help!)
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago

tabbylynn about 15 years ago
lonewerewolf can you tell?
so to whoever knows history…. about to see if i can get ahold of my old hist teacher….
when cordell hull stated “If goods cant cross borders, soldiers will.” he was refering to the refusal of using the “open door” policy. this statement was put into action wich therefore led to WWII. the great depression as well.
am i right or WAY WAY wrong?
dpetrill about 15 years ago
Hey Were, how’s my favorite wolf! I go with the hubs to the computer store and get bored silly, can’t figure any of that stuff out my own self and he’s in hog heaven!
Tomb if I could send some of the cold and snow your way I would! I just finished shoveling 3 ft of SNOW (shush, don’t tell Drycula) from the driveway and walks, and I’m done with it! Done with it, I tell you, DONE … WITH … IT! Altho…, it does look pretty if you don’t have to be in it.

bmonk about 15 years ago

:-Þ Pbftpbftpbft!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
And an office “server” can be very complicated…………….
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
LionAroundDead, I have my own aisle at the MC here!
bmonk about 15 years ago
@Tabby, the US did cut off oil and, IIRC, steel from Japan, so they attacked us to be free to take the Indonesian Islands from the Dutch and get their own oil. In that sense, cutting off trade did lead to war. On the other hand, Japan was already engaged in China, taking Manchuria in 1931 and a full attack in 1937. In the long run, US involvement to resist them was inevitable.
Hitler and Mussolini–I don’t think you can blame their aggression on lack of trade. It was more their own policies for Living Space or Empire (respectively). Once Germany and the Soviets made their treaty in 1939, war was (again) inevitable to stop Hitler’s expansion.
dpetrill about 15 years ago
Hey Drycula, does your office server “serve” martinis? I could use one right about now! LOL!
LoneWereWolf LOL! You and my hubs could be best buds!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago

tabbylynn about 15 years ago

dpetrill about 15 years ago
ROFLMAO - no kidding! I leave the house when the hubs works on the servers, I don’t even try to be an Indian and help!
The Duke 1 about 15 years ago
Hitler’s main motive was to put the people back to work during the depression. He was able to do that by building war machinery which was convenient since he had his eye on dominating Europe. His secondary reason for expansion was to push his “Final Solution” across Europe and then the rest of the world. Of course ALL of this fell in with his plans for the Third Reich, a 1000 year empire.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Hey Drycula, is your filter blocking me out or are you just busy?

so tell me if this makes since… i have writen in my notes what he had typed and on the board.
in 1937 unemploymey was 15%then a few mins later he tells us
unemployment in 1937 went down 14%
i am lost. any help here?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
You’re just at the right level TURD! You put that Bookers above your head once, that’s okay, I’m just about close enough to smack someone somewhere that’ll make him drop that Bookers!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Whose 7’ 10”? Guess you’re growing along with that nose, TURD!
bmonk about 15 years ago
Uh-oh: Which of you guys added all that turpentine to the paint? It’s not even covering properly!
Repaint, you thinners!bmonk about 15 years ago
@Tabby, did it go from, ummm, 29% to 15% in 1937?
The Duke 1 about 15 years ago
The chart speaks for itself. One can see that in 1932, the year before Hitler and Roosevelt came to power, Germany’s unemployment rate was at 30.1% and America’s was at only 24.9%. But within just five years, Germany’s unemployment rate was reduced to only 4.6% (1937) and dropped even further to only 2.1% a year later.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
That isn’t turpentine, it’s BOOKERS! FrankenFri spilled it in the paint!

Don’t forget, tabby, we have had time to get interested and learn what we want to learn. Best way to study. Unfortunately, unless it matches the teacher’s interests or syllabus, it doesn’t make for very high grades…

Geez, cleo n c, here I am screwing off on your pathetic little project instead of WORKING!!

As I am reading all the comments from 3 pages back (you yappy nuts) I would cook rather than have a delivered pizza. Our homemade pizzas make theirs pale in comparison.

Should be something like the greater economy.

FrankenFri what is the translation, sir?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
I carry my step ladder around with me all the time! It folds into a nice little pouch! SNERK! Didn’t you ever see those advertised on TV?
tabbylynn about 15 years ago
it says next to that big word in my notes economies of larg scale so same thing?
Cleo you were not here to cook me a good pizza so i had to deal with that. lol
cleokaya about 15 years ago
FrankenFri & Drycual - I don’t know where you guys were painting, but it wasn’t here. I’m sure whomever you were helping was thrilled to have two such adorable and helpful monsters at their command.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
I will take a large snifter of Bookers however. the good thing about painting in the nude is that you don’t ruin clothes. :-p
The Duke 1 about 15 years ago
Oooooooooooo! A 3” STEPLADDER!!!
bmonk about 15 years ago
@Tabby, yes, it could mean large-space-economy, which is pretty close to scale, so I’d go with that…
tabbylynn about 15 years ago
LOL you all have me in pieces here.
bmonk about 15 years ago
Did anyone get one of those ladder sets with “dozens” of arrangements?
Edit: Somethin’ like this?
The Duke 1 about 15 years ago
Well the WHO WAS that naked homeowner we were working for??
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Well, caught up finally. What a shame that FrankenFri & Drycula ended up at my neighbors house instead of mine. The family is Korean and the language coming out of his mouth, which I could not understand, sounded a bit like he was outraged. He did keep hiccuping though. The only word I could make out was Bookers. That is why I suddenly crave a large snifter, but paint free if you will. I have had enough paint for the day.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Was my neighbor naked? Sheesh and this is the truth. I bought a hot tub, then he bought one, I put in new steps and a deck down to the lake, then he did too. I then painted my house and he followed suit. So, I am not surprised that he had taken up painting in the nude.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
I TOLD YOU WE WERE AT THE WRONG HOUSE, TURD! BUT OH NO, “THIS IS THE PLACE”, HE SAYS,” I KNOW THIS IS THIS THE PLACE”, HE SAYS! “TRUST ME”, HE SAYS! NOW WE’RE PROBABLY GOIING TO GET ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING! NOT TO MENTION VANDALISM! THANKS A LOT, TURD!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
That also explains the color choices. He always choose colors that I am not particularly fond of.

I’m glad your dad is feeling fine & fiesty. That is good news! I remember Mom thinking she was still able to drive. I told her she needed to improve her driving skills with her walker first. We had enough trouble with her thinking she could walk without anyone’s help. (She even needed help using the walker.) The hospice nurse said Mom’s lungs are about 2/3rds full of fluid. Can’t be too much longer, I would guess.

Tribe A big hello there!

The Duke 1 about 15 years ago
Dr. J, you DRANK the fifth!! SNERK!! cleo n c, I sit corrected!!
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago

Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Thanks, Mitch! I’ve missed Mom so much already, especially ever since she quit being able to converse much. With their marriage lasting 58 years, she was my mentor, especially for helping me learn how to love my husband & my kids (even when they are annoying!!!)

Rmom you and your family are in my prayers. Thank God that my parents are both still alive, but I have had to watch my Grandma pass after a long battle with Parkinson’s and then there’s the cancer… not fun.
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
Quabaculta about 15 years ago
RMOMZILLA It’s not like they’re his/her. Our apartment has two bathrooms, so we each ‘have’ the bathroom closest to our bedroom. And it gives room for the assorted grooming products.
I lost my dad 20 years go. I almost lost my mom to the flesh-eating bacteria (no joke!) earlier this year. What’s killer is being so far from the family. I had to rely on phone reports and IM exchanges,
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago
The one thing about life, is that it always changes.
dpetrill about 15 years ago
Rmomzilla Its amazing the strength we can find in ourselves. I’ve been around much older people all my life, so I have seen, and helped, a lot of people out of this life. Some not so easy, or willing, to go. I feel blessed by the families and their friends that were left behind. They were as much a support to me as I was to them, and most of them are still my closest friends.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Dry & Dr Jekyll - Where the heck are you two anyways.
Quabaculta about 15 years ago
Toilets are fixed, something in the t-junction. Anyway, it’s off to bed now, I still have to work tomorrow, working plumbing or not. Enjoy the changeover!
Smiley Rmom about 15 years ago

Lucky me.
