Well, I play hockey and I once upon a time played football. Soccer & basketball don’t do much for me. Baseball? Not on TV, but at the ballpark???? Yeah. Also like NASCAR.

What part of my wording seems strange to you?

I played hockey the last 3 yrs of high school and football 4 yrs. Not really interested & not tall enough for basketball and in baseball excellent fielding wasn’t enough to overcome poor hitting. Played soccer, though the only high point was getting to play at Soldiers Field.

Like I said, probably my imagination. Not really important.

I was thinking you were my age. But if you still play hockey, maybe not. I can still play, but I don’t know if I could still compete.

What is your imagination?

Oh………………………….a very vivid one. At least that’s what my kids say.

Hey DOC! I quit reading Crankshaft when they took it off of comics.com and gocomics, but I know it is on the Houston Chronicle. Is there an ez way to tour their comics page? I always get frustrated when I look for Crankshaft. I only see it when you post a link.

I love Crankshaft but I have been too stinkin’ lazy to go find it. It has been one of my favorites since I started reading it back in the 80’s. Interesting how that old fart hasn’t aged any more. Wish I could do that.

This year we are going over to the house of the friends we went out with last year to watch the trick of treaters. It is supposed to be a miserable night. I’m a lightweight, the older I get.

About an hour ago I was jolted awake by a mushy thumping sound outside my window. Going outside to check I found a huge lump of snow quickly melting in the 70deg morning air. Working fast I fashioned a snowman….and 5 minutes later I had a puddle. Oh well….

Busy weekend….what was to be a quiet get a lot of housework done day is now a party hardy. So I’ve told my friends that absolutely next weekend I cannot party until my work is done. Meantime I do what I can until I must get ready.

Carmy - If that neckless dude had a beard, I’d wonder if he was my hubby. When he had neck surgery this year, we joke that the doctor installed a neck. I think he did get slightly taller, because he said he started hitting his head getting in the car. The doc couldn’t get the plate in perfectly parallel to his spine, because of the limited room he had to work in. Even after his surgery, you can’t really see his neck because of his beard, and he prefers to wear button-up shirts with collars that covers what little neck he does has, rest of the way around.

Carmy - My hubby never played football, but he did wrestle in high school. Between genetics and wrestling, he has a short, thick neck. (Size 17 or larger). I got him this afternoon, when he said he needed to “trim his neck”, referring to his whiskers. I gave him a funny look, and then said, “Oh, you mean the bottom of your jaw!” Seriously, he has no neck in the front at all.

Cleo, got any good Vegan recipes? Not for me, for someone else.Might be a helathier way to eat, but to give up fish, poultry, meat and dairy, no way, not this FHIG!

Drycula: FHIG? Fairly High Intelligence Guy? Fits Hand Into Glove??

Thoroughly scrub the vegan prior to preparation. Remove all hair and finger/toe nails. Place in large roaster pan and place over medium heat until browned. Add onions, carrots and potatoes along with 1 cup red wine, dash of thyme and 2 bay leaves. Add salt and pepper to taste. Place in oven at 350 degrees and cook until tender.

I eat a few vegetarian meals but I like to have some protein. We eat a lot of seafood, way more than anything else.

Dry - Does a vegan eat cheese? If so, I might be able to come up with some ideas.

Some vegetarians eat cheese but most vegans are very strict about eating only vegetables.

We probably eat a dish without meat once or twice a week. Dry one of the best vegetarian cookbooks, we use it a lot, is Mark Bittman’s “How To Cook Everything Vegetarian.” Very, very good food.

I can think of cheese enchiladas, cheese pizza, meatless lasagna, but I can’t think of anything without either meat or cheese. Since my Dad raised cattle & hogs, we always had meat for every meal.

A lot of our meatless dishes feature a starch such as pasta, beans, lentils or potates with collards or kale and carrots, onion, garlic, nuts, tomatoes, etc.

Rmomzilla, Vegan diet: No fish, no foul, no meat, no dairy no eggs! Ever! I’d say they’re crazy but it’s a very dear relative of mine!

Cleo, there is vegetarian, vegan (pronounced VEE GEN) not veg an,( I got corrected for that pronuncation, LOL,) and one other term that defines a similar diet.

Drycula, I can remember when I was a trick or treater. My friends and I would hit about 5 blocks in our neighborhood. We’d have to pass by our houses to make a drop because our bags were filled up.

Tim Tebow probably won’t be a great pro quarterback, although I hope he is, but what Tim is that so many are not, is a great human being. He realizes that there is so much more to life than football (and yes I am a football nut) and he has done so much to lift up so many other people instead of getting the big head and ego that so many have. I am also tired of the media frenzy that surrounds him, but isn’t that just further evidence that the dude is something special?

CarMummy, I don’t know where he is, but I think we got too SAPPY for MoPar! ROFLMAO!! He played us some nice love songs and we ran with it! You know how men are about too much sappy stuff!
