Woke up this morning and peered out the porthole of the Ark, and the sun is shining!! It’s still cold (for us) but at least the rain has stopped. Al it did yesterday was rain, even though I got home very quickly. Turns out there was a wreck at the exit just up/down/behind my onramp so we’re all sailing down the road at posted speed limits. Unheard of for a weekday 5pm commute.

Dunno what’s going to be going on today besides picking up my food from Angel Ministries. Mebbe that’s what I need, a quiet weekend.

Later, got much to do before leaving in a couple minutes.

HEH HEH CLEO! Looks like about 4”, still coming down, they’ve upped the snowfall amount to 8, originally as of last night it was only supposed to be 3! But I think it will be more than 8, coming down pretty good and it’s supposed to keep snowing into the wee hours of Sunday.

Snow is so fun to look at for the first hour or so. :-)

Yes Cleo, it’s pretty coming down, but what a mess when it’s done! And what I really like is how quiet eveyrhting gets!

Still Snowing!

Good afternoon all! We got some snow here, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Except, the snow is melting away again.

Yesterday we had a cold fog, so the trees are all frosted. Too bad Christmas is still a week away… :-(

That is to say, since my last post looks confused, that the trees and all look lovely frosted now–but it usually lasts but a day at the best before it’s all gone. Too bad.

happy Saturday, from the biggest bear of all (even though my avatar is an owl). i’m part polar, part grizzly, and part teddy bear in RL. here i’m just a yyyguy having fun. i tried catching up from where i left yesterday, but had to give it up, just too many posts to read. i’m listening to Junior Brown on the u toob link someone posted, though. just wanted to tell Shika and the others who mentioned the shows that i remember watching the premieres of “Charlie Brown’s Christmas”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” back in the 60’s. (I was between 8 and 10 when they came on in their various dates. Memory is hazy as to exactly when, but I remember that kid brother was a baby and he was born in 1964.)

Seriously…blizzard? It started snowing late last nite/early this morning and it’s still coming down. Flakes are going from lite & fluffy to small & wet to HUGE & fluffy to just snowflakes. I can barely see my car…at least I think that’s my car. Or is that Rudolph’s nose? No, it’s the car. Nothing blinking.

Wow dcguys That’s pretty! And you do have it worse than we do, for sure! Worst ones we ever had were in ‘93 and ‘03. I remember ‘93 because it collapsed my front porch and the snow was up to the bottom of the window. ‘03 my neighbor died from a heart attack, he collapsed and the EMS couldn’t get up the hill.

i remember around 1972 (you know you’re getting old when sentences begin to start with, “i remember when…”) when we had snow plowed off the road that was piled higher than the cars driving on said roads. i also have a couple of pics on my work computer of St. Anthony’s, Newfoundland a couple of winters ago where it showed them digging out from a snowfall that was as high as the houses. one of them was a drift that went part way up the church roof!

okay, dcguys that’s decided it. too late for today (not enough light) but tomorrow i’m going to take pictures of the pond out back of my building again. haven’t done it in winter before, but a couple of my summer photos are gorgeous. one of them was my very first avatar photo.

just checked weather for tomorrow and it should be good for photo ops. sunny with cloudy periods and a high of around 30F. almost ideal for winter! if not, Tuesday’s supposed to be sunny.

lovely. our Christmas day forecast is for snow. the day i’ll be going from my place to my sister’s for brunch with the family (and presents) and then from her place to my brother’s for dinner (which is a present in itself). it’s all in town so should present no difficulties. (i’m used to driving in the snow. famous last words…)
