And this morning for breakfast we have:
Pancakes or French toast with strawberries and whipped cream
Or sweet ginger sauce (my favorite)
Or butter and Quebec maple syrup
Grits served with eggs, Canadian bacon or ham or sausage and toast.
Coddled eggs and toast
Leftover pizza with lots of anchovies - or not.
Homemade bread toasted and buttered served with homemade blackberry or strawberry jam
Bagels and cream cheese (both savory and strawberry)
Or
A medley of fresh fruit and berries with vanilla yoghurt
Fanally got back and caught up on the party. Bowling? Oh my! And with Bookers? My, oh my!
What did I miss? Ah well. The Canadian Women’s Bobsledders got gold and silver. But apparently they passed a couple of guys from the PNW swinging a bookers bottle and getting in the way of the sleighs. Wonder who that could have been? JFri, Cleo, any ideas?
Morning, Grog! Yes, you did!! You should have seen cleo on the mechanical bull!! That was just before the Secret Service took him away to question him about those $50 dollar bills!!
Yeh, JFri the whistling fools no-one!
Yes, where is Hymenoxis when we need him? Or **Quaby sometimes helped clean-up? And I haven’t seen those Krispy Kremes in a while…
Enjoy the pancakes.Marg especially since I missed pancake day! Canadians used to celebrate it - at least my Mom did.
(Sneaking into Seattle Secret Service detention facility. Ahhhh, there’s cleo!! Wow, these hand cuffs are hard to pick the lock on!!!! OK, cleo, this way out!! Shhhhhh!)
No LuvH8, I don’t live in Texas anymore. I did for approximately 14 years. I now live in a suburb of Chicago. But I’ll be going back to Texas sometime in the future again.
Grog - I was just catching up on some stuff I missed. I find myself double checking my spelling and word usage just so I don’t get dinged. But I do sometimes deliberately leave answers that can be interpretated in multiple ways.
Bunnyface - Cannibals do not eat clowns because cannibals are human and clowns are not!
Doc T - I just meant at home as opposed to a group home type facility.
I worked in the day program and did in-home in several grouphomes. If you ever want to talk or have questions I would be happy to give my not-an-expert opinion on things like that.
Also if you just want to brag or exchange stories. I can’t use real names of course. (I remembered! Most of my clients were originally from Fairview.)
Hello everyone sorry I missed yesterday’s activities.
Luv8 did you work with adults? I work pt where teenagers go at a treatment place not locked down before either going home to school or another assisted living place.
For some parents wants help others don’t want kids coming back. For kids once back home want to leave so get in trouble. For where I work at room/bed, counseling, treatment, and activites. Adults babysit. This could go for anystate.
Doc, I think that you can put the snowapult away for a short rest. I think Dry has seen that you are the supreme master of snow delivery systems. Did you knock her power out too?
Wow, glad you still have power Dry. Yes, last night was fun. Except for the detention part. The Canadian women bobsledders gave us a funny little one finger wave as they passed us on the way to the medals platform. I guess they kind on like us.
Hola Dry! I hope you don’t lose your power. It’s SO boring when the power goes out.
Cleo, what did LilG say when you tried to sneak in the house after your escapade last night?
Doc, at Little Lost Dog a solution has been found to curb the Rodent Revolution.
Carmy, LilG heard about out escapades on NPR this morning. I told her I just wanted to be part of Olympics history. She gave me a list of chores. Sigh!
Good Morning Johnny!Cleo, I’ll just make sure that I am far away from you, the torch and the whiskey.
Doc, yes, he has. It must be his anniversary or something.
How’s the hangovers? [as he flings open the drapes to let the sun shine brightly]
@Tabby, I must just say that you don’t look a day over 19…
JFri, if the Secret Service was questioning cleo about those 50s, I guess the 40 and 25 dollar bills weren’t noticed?
DocT and Dry–about the winter storm: Ha! No need to worry (around here!) about the winter leaves or the apple blossoms for a couple of months yet.

”Doc T - maybe it’s all that Nuclear Coffee?”
Learn something new every day! I never realized until I read that that Nuclear Coffee is so strong that it can cause people near the drinker to OD on caffeine….
bunny I always knew that Doc had a radiant personality, but it took you to point out that it was nuclear.
Honestly, I don’t know why everyone got so excited about counterfeiting. I was asked to do it after all. A man came up to me at Whistler and asked it I could make change for a $100 bill. So I set to work making fifties.
Johnny, I think the crayon makers should make it easy and and provide the stencil for a hundred dollar bill. They should name the crayons, like counterfeiter green, etc.
good afternoon Tribe (& pschearer) have a few minutes to catch up (and spent most of it reading yesterday’s comments). a word about Dry referring to the two stooges (when they went to the bobsleigh run). it had to be TWO stooges, since the yyyguy wasn’t there. and anyone who prefers luge or skeleton to go down that hill is out of their mind!
glad to see the results of the hockey games, it should be interesting to see Canada v Slovakia and USA v Finland. both north american teams better watch out that the hot goalie doesn’t burn their chances. i’m especially looking forward to the Canada v USA women’s final tonight - since i’ll be able to watch it after my meeting ends. should be a barn burner. anyhow, time for a quick tour!
I remember watching USA play Canada in women’s hockey a number of years ago. The game was on live in the wee early hours. The station I was watching it on was CBC and the game was great. I was really enthralled, but I had forgotten that at that time we only got CBC for half the day, the other half it became CSpan. Suddenly the game was cut off and it switched to politics. That is a good way to put how I like to approach life alright. celecca it is funny that you should take a twist on one of my favorite movies that I have seen many times. All 3 actors are on my lists for my choices as wonderful at the craft of acting.
i am home went next door to help with the todler. hes 2 now i cant say baby anymore. :0( but hes been sick so i went visit. and we took a nap together. now i have a headache and work to do and im hungry
Hey punctuation is everything I just associated your penchant for undress with being unencumbered and the line popped in my brain
I know I’ve watched the movie, but I don’t remember much. There are very few movies I can recall precisely. I envy people like you and my husband who can!
Ahh, cleo, it might be harder to corrupt monks than you think. We are used to temptation, and just because we are monks by no means keeps us from being sinners. However, we should be more expert at resisting temptation and corruption. Ahh–it is smooth, isn’t it?
It is smooth. It is interesting how the palate develops. When I first tried an Islay malt I wondered how anyone could stand it. Then as the years go by and age sets in, your taste buds change and switch away from sweet as being the only interesting taste. Flavors become more complex and you appreciate the flavors of more intense combinations. Plus, I believe a person’s taste buds diminish as well as become more refined with age. You lose the intensities of flavor, but also appreciate nuances you missed when young.
You know, we had a priest here once who was a recovering alcoholic. I never asked, but how does one in that situation offer Mass without he drinking of the wine?
Tabby, I hope you finish up soon.
Johnny, I haven’t run away yet, but I’m about to. The youngest girl has a field trip tomorrow so I have to go get her a lunchable.
BBL
Tabby, I know, I just couldn’t resist. I was just keeping up with the day’s posts before turning in. That and Dry’s complement to Joe put a smile on my face though.
Carmy ROFLMBO which one? the oldest im willing to bet! lol was the guy like drop dead cute or cute or just hot cute?? need info on my little sis crush! lol
Cleo Secrets, you owe me man, for hiding all those bills for you in my secret hiding place! The gmen could have hauled me away if they had found them! :-D Of course, if they were cute, the search may have been fun!
Carmy LOL no i sent dad a text telling him…
i just wanted to let you know that i love you know that i loveu and that you are a grat dad. i dont say it enough, but i do love you and i am greatful for all you do for us
he got up and fixed me ice cream and said “i love you too”
Actually, I meant “a few cases when we have a glass or two of wine with meals” Sheesh! Keep your hats on!
And, as for alcoholic priests, they can try to get permission to use unfermented wine (must), or else, once sober, they may be able to handle a sip of the consecrated wine. It all depends on the addiction–conditions under which they were tempted to indulge in excess, and so on.

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Well, I think that I shall go on a short hike. BBS
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
And so can, dare I say, the hair of the dog
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Hair of the dog?
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hair of the dog that bit you. For me a Bloody Caesar always helped to stop the pounding.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
One way to avoid hangovers: stay drunk.
A better way: drink in moderation, and be sure to include plenty of water while drinking.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Bmonk I have a friend that drinks water with it.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
One argument for Scotch and Water. Anyone see a bottle of Chivas Regal?
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
bunny, I prefer single malts to blends, but I have a bottle of Chivas for friends. I prefer the peaty single malts from Islay.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
someone named tabby has to go to bed early tonight
bmonk almost 15 years ago
@cleo, I’m willing to experiment.
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
i dont want to do my english hw. :0(
i am not going to english class tomorrow, but i have to do the hw and turn it in b4 9:30 am
tabbylynn almost 15 years ago
Bunnyface since when do u drinK!?
bmonk almost 15 years ago
On occasion. Rare, true, maybe max of ten times a year, plus a few cases of wine with meals, but I do have the occasional drink…
Old (bad) pun: wherever there are four clergymen, there’s a fifth!
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Tabby good luck with your assignment.
bunny, here is a snifter of Laphroaig. I prefer it neat.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
I have corrupted all others. It is time to start on monks.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
Thank you, cleo, you are a true gentleman.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Notice the smoky flavor on the palate.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
bunny, you have me beat if you have a few cases of wine with meals. You monks certainly know how to enjoy a good wine.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
Ahh, cleo, it might be harder to corrupt monks than you think. We are used to temptation, and just because we are monks by no means keeps us from being sinners. However, we should be more expert at resisting temptation and corruption. Ahh–it is smooth, isn’t it?
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
It is smooth. It is interesting how the palate develops. When I first tried an Islay malt I wondered how anyone could stand it. Then as the years go by and age sets in, your taste buds change and switch away from sweet as being the only interesting taste. Flavors become more complex and you appreciate the flavors of more intense combinations. Plus, I believe a person’s taste buds diminish as well as become more refined with age. You lose the intensities of flavor, but also appreciate nuances you missed when young.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
bunny cases of wine? CASES? LOL!
You know, we had a priest here once who was a recovering alcoholic. I never asked, but how does one in that situation offer Mass without he drinking of the wine?
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Howdy Dry. I have developed a new respect for a clergy and how they can tolerate excess.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Dry, it naturally depends how far along the priest was in recovery. He could have handled it by drinking a mass amount of wine.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo I was being serious. For shame sir! :-)
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dry, about your avatar, is the bear waiting for his order? Is he going to tip the server? Is he waiting on his brewsky? LOL!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Carmy ALL OF THE ABOVE, although, if I don’t get served soon, the waiter/waitress can forget the tip! I’ve been sitting here all day!
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Carmy hello young lady.
Dry, you may have been serious, but I was obviously being a jerky poo. :-)
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Carmy, do you suppose Dry’s bear could be awaiting some mead.?
carmy almost 15 years ago
Cleo, yes, I do suppose, jerky poo.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
What is mead?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo You are forgiven. I realize, that being nekkers, the cold may have affected your thought process! :-D
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Just in case, if I disappear, the winds have taken over!
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Mead is honey wine.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago

GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Tabby, I know, I just couldn’t resist. I was just keeping up with the day’s posts before turning in. That and Dry’s complement to Joe put a smile on my face though.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hi, Carmy. Good advice for sure.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Grog, did you get some snow today? My Mom said that it’s been chilly down in the Valley.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago

GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago

Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago

Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo Secrets, you owe me man, for hiding all those bills for you in my secret hiding place! The gmen could have hauled me away if they had found them! :-D Of course, if they were cute, the search may have been fun!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago

johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Dry, that is a good one. An actual LOL.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
Actually, I meant “a few cases when we have a glass or two of wine with meals” Sheesh! Keep your hats on!
And, as for alcoholic priests, they can try to get permission to use unfermented wine (must), or else, once sober, they may be able to handle a sip of the consecrated wine. It all depends on the addiction–conditions under which they were tempted to indulge in excess, and so on.
johnnydoc5 almost 15 years ago
Who is Tammy?
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Sorry Johnny I am the KING of tipos. Now I am outta here.
bmonk almost 15 years ago
