JFRI Looks great but can I pour Pirate coffee in the same cup that was formally used for DOC TOON’s nuclear coffee.? Its a virgin cup, never touched by soap or water. Should safety welding loves be worn and what about eye protection? Should I notify OSHA or the USNRC?
Good morning all and thanks for all the warm wishes relative to my son. I think I gave the wrong impression that his passing was very recent, but in truth it’s been 4 years now. It gets a little easier as we move on, but I still think of him at least once every day. We do a celebration of his life rather than mourning of his death, so it’s not all a sad occasion any more.
Good Morning DFrog, Carmy, Grog, Doc & Terry. WhooHoo, we set a record high yesterday. Man, it was beautiful. We even made the national news when a local school principal declared it a sun day and let everyone out of school.
Going to be gorgeous here today (of course, I have to work) before it rains and turns colder for the weekend (naturally). We’ve had just enough good weather that I need to break out the lawnmower on Saturday.
Hello Saucy. So Doc have you given notice at your old place, or are you just moving some stuff. I know you mentioned that Krewd didn’t have another place.
Hi, margueritem. I know this comment is late in the day, but I wanted to compliment you on your avatars. I especially enjoy the ornate eggs you use around Easter time.

The loss of a child is worthy of regret and sympathy whether it happened 4 days ago, 4 years ago or 4 decades ago. It is nice that the people who love your son have found a way to celebrate his life and stay connected to each other.
Doctor Toon, they’re even nicer if you can stretch them into 3 or 4 days. 5 would be even better. I think I’d much prefer the 2 day work week as I slowly inch closer to retirement.
Bummer. I get 5 weeks of paid vacation/yr, but rarely can I get as much as a week off all at once, unless it’s included with the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays.
Anyway, that’s it for me for now. I’ll give you all fair warning (per bunnyface’s comment) that I may drop by a little later tonight.
Hello all. I just got back from errands in town and spending money. As beautiful as yesterday was today is very varied. Coming home from town on the freeway the rain was so heavy my wipers couldn’t keep up. Now, it is drizzling.

The village allows you to run the business out of the home at the present time, so I would fall under the “Grandfather” law if the village changed that. That’s why I put out the money for my license and insurance even though it really wasn’t affordable at the time.
I still am working on getting into a shop with lifts but I need enough regular customer’s to warrant the move. The last place I worked at ripped people badly and I just can’t do business that way. I love my profession and enjoy doing it the honest way.
Cleo, It does once in a while, but I’ve been doing this on the side along with my full time mechanic job for the better part of 30 years, except for the time in the military. I am used to it and don’t really mind. If I need one I have a friend with a large shop on his property and he will let me use the lift he has.
I see that and I’m about to go figure out what James & I are having for dinner. The #1 daughter is working so we are on our own tonight. I’ll be back later, Cleo. Good yapping with you.
I saw Doc’s comment about Cathy needing to come on here and post nonsense to be considered a Troll. Red-eye gravy is a thin sauce often seen in the cuisine of the Southern United States and associated with the country ham of that region. Other names for this sauce include poor man’s gravy, bird-eye gravy, bottom sop and red ham gravy. The gravy is made from the drippings of pan-fried country ham. Some people add black coffee, but REAL red-eye gravy doen’t have coffee - the red colour being produced by the fried ham drippings. The same drippings, when mixed with flour, make the flavouring for a white gravy. Red-eye gravy is often served over ham, cornbread, grits, or biscuits.
Carmy, As an aside to last night’s conversation, I may not have seen Honor Blackman in The Avengers, but I did see her in Goldfinger, which is my favorite Bond movie.
Grog, thanks for the red eye gravy info. I’ve heard of it, but I didn’t know what it was. I do like Goldfinger (Oddjob was cool) but I think my fav is Live and Let Die. Honor Blackman’s character’s name was um, too much!
