When I did my weed & feed yesterday, I found a couple of ant hills in the back yard. I’m going to have to do an application for that today. I want to wait for the grass to dry out a bit.
It’s going to be another beautiful day here today…just not quite as warm.
Yes, I just did little prayer for him (and didn’t burst into flame). I am even considering Gasp!!! a virtual hug. If you hear from him I would appreciate any news. I do hope his mom gets better.
Just caught up from yesterdays postings. Lonewolf, I hope everything is well with your family. I’m adding prayers, too.
Trying to be busier today than was yesterday. SPent the last of my ‘tax’ read on Ebay buying size 13/0 beads. When they come in (more pastel colors this time around) I’ll be cranking out more earrings. People, too, or the people necklaces.
Quaby if you try to sell those earrings you could take a picture of them post them here that way girls and women and see if they like them. Good way to earn extra income.
Nice day here today a little cool but suppose to warm up.
I decided on flowers since they will last longer until May.
Our flower sprouts are shooting up.
I’m not sure how much I will be on this side. For the one who has someone in the hospital hope all is well.
Hello all. I just got back from Calvin and Hobbes. I can’t believe how vile the comments are starting to get over there. MrsLukeSkywalker is riling up things again as is somebody named Randy (I forget his last name). As much as I disagree with Mrs I had to make a comment to the person that made the comment before mine, nasty name calling do not make the situation better.
I am so sorry Doc. It is tough anytime a pet dies, but knowing when is really tough. When the day came that I knew Kaya had lived and suffered long enough, I kept staring at the clock for when the vet would be coming to my door.
((((((((Doc))))))) We lost our Charlie Girl to the same thing. The vet showed us the xrays (the day before Christmas Eve) and I kept asking him, well are you sure, can we do anything, etc. My son said, “Mom, Charlie has bone cancer, you have to accept that.” Yes, it is very hard. She wasn’t in that much pain, she was still eating and acting like herself so we didn’t do anything right away. Then around 4 weeks later, she died at home, surrounded by us.
My friend you have had more of your share of grief of late. I am glad that you have continued to remain in good spirit. Just know that you are in my thoughts.
Dry, I added my agreement with your words at Calvin and Hobbes. I can’t believe how bad it is getting over there. I am getting to the point that I do not want to read the comments anymore.
Doctor-Toon how old is the dog?
My sister has a female dog cocker spanile will be turning 14 I think. Dog before that she had to put to sleep the dog was old and loved greeting us. I think she had cancer too.
My mom was in tears.:(
Cleo I hardly ever read Mrs comments, where she posts people become antagonized. The few times I read her posts I usually regret it. Fortunately she never changes her avatar, so it’s even easier to avoid.
Yes Mrs stirs up too much comment that has nothing to do with the strip. She attacked JAD on a strip today and I was thinking, whoa lady, you are worse than JAD.
Cleo and Doc I knew when it was time for Hannah. My first avatar here. I called our Vet on a Sunday morning at 7:30 am, he told me to call him anytime. She died in my arms on the way to the vet, she looked right into my eyes. I know she was saying goodbye. And you know, my Vet never charged me a penny for that. He’s still our Vet, has been for over 20 years.
Dry, my vet was a small town vet and when I called her on Saturday and told her it was time, she said “I close at 11AM. Let her stay home. I’ll come over when I close.” I thought that was such a nice gesture on her part, because Kaya never liked going to the vet, not just her, any vet.
She is definitely worse than Joe. He explained some of his situation on the 3-15 FHS. I kind of suspected some of it and I think he played some of it down. I still hold him responsible when he is being less than nice, but I am sorry someone who is so social seems to be stuck at home so much.
Cleo yes that was indeed very nice of her.
Thought I would like to be a vet once, but I get too attached! Same reason I didn’t become a nurse like my mom! People who do that, and do it well, are INDEED very special people.
Dry, my wife has recently gone back to work as a nurse, the first time since I have known her. She is so wonderful at her job, as I am discovering, and so enthusiastic about the people that she sees each day. She fits her profession perfectly as she lights up telling me about patients and caregivers.
Cleo as was my mom, but sometimes there were things that made her sad, or she would “tear up” and stop talking about it. Everyone at the hospital from doctors down to orderlies said she was one of the best. I was so proud of her!
Cleo she was! She was very disppointed that I didn’t want to be a nurse like she was, but she got over it. Maybe because one of my friends pursued that career because of her! LOL! ANd I knew some of her experiences druing WW2, and of her childhood, but my aunt who was the historian of the family passed away first. All us cousins said we wish we had asked more questions of all of the sisters and their one brother. We would listen to them talk at family gatherings, but some questions we should have asked we never did. Don’t know why we didn’t. Now we can’t!
I know the feeling Dry. Every family should have a member interested in preserving family history, but even with that, so many people are reluctant to talk about themselves.
Cleo, All my mom’s side of the family said my Aunt Betty should write a book. Of course she never did. Some of the stories of their lives are absolutely fascinating! Real life stories you can’t make up in Hollywood, they all lived it in real life! Maybe one of these days I’ll shoot off a long e. I think you would find it interesting.
Hello, TribeCarmy & Fellow Baby, are you still there?
Doctor Toon, I am really saddened to hear about Maddie. My heart goes out to you.
MrsLukeSkywalker has been a P.I.T.A. since I first seen her posts, both on C&H & Ziggy. As far as C&H goes, if no one else reflects her views then they have no right reading the commic or posting on it as far as she is concerned. As much as I’d like to take issue with her (and Susan001 on occasion), I’ve done my best just to ride on on.
Shika, I do not know of the two women that you mentioned. I googled them and came up with a hit for Alana Bridgewater and jazz. I love jazz, but no, I am not familiar with her.
We had boneless chicken breasts rolled with fontina and prosciutto, potatoes baked with garlic and rosemary and spinach sauteed with onion and red pepper.
Just wondering cleo I met them on Friday. They sang at a funeral I was assisting in.
It’s Jackie Richardson. I spelled her name wrong. We sang with her once or twice at my previous church. I met Alana at some concerts of a friend of mine. Both have fantastic voices.
Cousin It resembles me. I was here first. Let’s face it, there is as much physically appealling about the Addams Family as The Munsters. At least Cousin It is huggable.
Grog ~ LOL! Actually you remind me of this book my sister checked out of the library about ‘warm fuzzies’ and ‘cold pricklies’.
Why did you mention the bad things? You know I am easily tempted. I managed to not read all the comments but Ophelia has joined the fray, I wonder if we can expect Duke. They must have decided they weren’t getting enough attention at FBorFW.
LuvH8, I noticed Ophelia, too. The whole thing was brought to my attention by Cleo so I had to look (as you did). Just sit back and enjoy the fireworks.
I suppose it’s still early for you Cleo. It is possible as long as it’s a short one, like one of the Marx Brother movies. Horse Feathers comes to mind.
LuvH8, he isn’t in a coma, but he is perfectly cognizant of his situation, but physically unable to live alone. It is an issue, because he wants to remain in his home and his partner who lives 90 miles away, wants him to be moved there. It is going to be a tough situation, but I am going to offer to drive him to rehab, it he chooses to stay home.
Cleo, I’m sorry to hear about your friend. The best you can do is to be there for him. You know what I go through. My wonderful friends here (you included) have helped me so much. I can never say that enough or show my appreciation as much as I would like to also.
Oh, I thought you mentioned two people in comas. That is - well no words suffice. I am sure you will help as much as you can. Is he able to do much at all for himself?

And the French language when spoken by the wife!
Shikamoo Premium Member over 14 years ago

carmy Yeah. He really looked like something!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I thought you thought you were trying to scare me, Shika but I knew you were LURCHING about!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I thought Cousin It was irresistable one.
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog are you just saying that because you resemble Cousin It?
carmy over 14 years ago
but what was he saying? Cousin It had his own language.
carmy over 14 years ago
If i would have had a boy, I would have named him Pugsly. Hah!

I just had a DELICIOUS COBB salad for supper! Now I need something sweet!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Cousin It resembles me. I was here first. Let’s face it, there is as much physically appealling about the Addams Family as The Munsters. At least Cousin It is huggable.
carmy over 14 years ago
Hola Dry! Grog, Eddie Munster is huggable. I loved his werewolf doll.

Carmy, I suppose I could say the same about Marilyn, but at my age she’s way too young.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, did you like BOTH Marilyns? I think one of them was prettier than the other. Don’t ask me which one that was.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
LuvH8, I noticed Ophelia, too. The whole thing was brought to my attention by Cleo so I had to look (as you did). Just sit back and enjoy the fireworks.

LuvH8, I like tribbles, too.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, I never saw a Marilyn I didn’t like.
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
No, I will not go back again. I will not be tempted to do my new trick. I will be good.
Grog You are kind of cute, but I wouldn’t say huggable.

What if I had Mick Jagger lips?
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Hello again. In between movies, if there is a second one.
carmy over 14 years ago
Mick Jagger lips? Yikes! Cleo, what was the first movie? I’m watching Mamma Mia.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I suppose it’s still early for you Cleo. It is possible as long as it’s a short one, like one of the Marx Brother movies. Horse Feathers comes to mind.
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
It’s that you have nothing to hug. You are a head with legs and arms.
Cleo ~ I am sending good wishes to you for your friends in comas.

I’m afraid it’s time fer me to call it a night. I keep telling myself that retirement’s not that far away but it’s far enough.

Well, with that”positive” feedback, I guess I’m glad I’m not Mick Jagger.
Gunite all

LuvH8, he isn’t in a coma, but he is perfectly cognizant of his situation, but physically unable to live alone. It is an issue, because he wants to remain in his home and his partner who lives 90 miles away, wants him to be moved there. It is going to be a tough situation, but I am going to offer to drive him to rehab, it he chooses to stay home.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
It is tough because this could be the end of his relationship, and the fact that I have no confidence in his present situation scares me.
carmy over 14 years ago
Cleo, I’m sorry to hear about your friend. The best you can do is to be there for him. You know what I go through. My wonderful friends here (you included) have helped me so much. I can never say that enough or show my appreciation as much as I would like to also.
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
Oh, I thought you mentioned two people in comas. That is - well no words suffice. I am sure you will help as much as you can. Is he able to do much at all for himself?
Ooops! Premium Member over 14 years ago
Okay I do need to go now.
Cleo It sounds like a tough situation. I wish you luck, wisdom, compassion and courage in helping your friend.
