Canadian bacon,

butter milk pancakes with maple or elderberry syrup and fresh butter,
oatmeal with blueberries and cream
Nuclear coffee, Pirate’s coffee or cocoa/mocha
fresh fruit
Grog I will have a bit of everything, esp Bush’s beans, pan fried taters, scrambled eggs, sausage, and Pirate coffee! Thank you sir!
Oh and a Bloody Caesar!
I’ve found fruit juices so obscure that they can only be obtained by scraping them from the skin of pre-pubescent Indonesian girls who run naked through wild jungles.
LW18, I almost forgot. Check out a link I left on last night’s strip. I had you in mind, in particular, when I left it there. A little something from a Montreal toonist.
In re: Lonewolf’s question on Birdbrains (which see) and in honor of the biblical Sabbath, today the CocoMocha is spiked with Sabra liqueur from Israel (any one of the three varieties available).
Doc, I know what you are saying. Luckily, Wolfangil doesn’t drink it so she makes it the way I like it. She doesn’t have to taste it. When her mother comes over, it’s a much more milder pot for sure! LOL
I’m afraid I must retract the previous mention of “juices”. As it turns out, those were more in the nature of “esters”, which is to say chemically active and volitile substances used primarily in the drug and cosmetic industries. While they had, and to my misfortune still have the flavor of grape and orange, they are not suitable for consumption in their unprocessed, original state. Research continues.
Wifey Bits and I acquired two shelter rescue cats some time ago, “SallyCat” and “Boo Boo Kitty”, and, oddly, neither oft them is vocal in the least. Both were quite shy on arrival, to the extent that we had to take care if one held sway in one’s lap; the least noise would cause them to go tear-assing across the room, leaving torn flesh and blue language behind.
I just lifted Boo Boo Kitty, who has the habit of licking one’s toes if one stands still in front of the refrigerator too long, and brought her with me back to the computer station. She purred.
I realize that in most locales this would not be considered note-worthy. Most cats purr. Boo Boo Kitty, however, has yet to utter a sound excepting this. She is now crawling though my little desk, from shelf to shelf, disorganizing my carefully piled disks and showing rather more bottom than is considered acceptable in polite society.
GROG Again you have presented a tasty repast but alas, I’m on a diet so I must limit my selection. I’ll take the assorted ice creams, all flavors please. Ben and Jerry’s is on sale for 2/$5 but they only let you eat 4 per day and they don’t provide spoons.

Morning, Cleo. It’s a clear, blue morning here in North Texas. Like Grog, I feel the need to get about, but I’ve got “Doctor Strangelove” on the big screen.
Morning, Terry! I’m still feeling groggy - guess Grog forgot the Pepsi again for us non-coffee caffeine addicts.
Breakfast sounds good, but I promised my youngest son a week ago that I’d make biscuits & gravy today. Usually hubby helps, but he went back to work this morning, so I’ll have to do all the baking & cooking myself.
Thanks, Terry!
Good morning, bmonk! - I like your choice of the joke theme for next week. I’ve got a lot of good ones ready.
Hi, LuvH8! - I just loved your sign you posted last night. Like the threat of instant death isn’t enough?
Hi, Dry and anyone else I missed!
LuvH8, it’s a pool league most of the time. Occasionally I enter tournaments. My leagues are Thursday evening and Saturday afternoons, but I don’t play every week. You have eight players, but only five play on a given day. Everybody gets to play about the same number of times for each “season”.
Good afternoon, Doc & johnny!
I’ve got done with making and eating biscuits & sausage gravy. Now, I’ve got to get laundry and some other things around here done. I’ll pop in & out.
Hymenoxis - I know that I feel happier when the vehicle that I drive the most gets new tires, new wipers & a good cleaning inside & out. Probably I need to add vacuuming the car(s?) to my to-do-list for today.
Hello Doc T - When I first read your comment I thought you were saying the driver was a screw. I reread it because I thought it should say the driver was screwy, but I guess I was wrong.
Rmom ~ Hello! Don’t forget the oil, filter, spark plug, etc. changes.
Dry, right now I am having myself a rather stacked corned beef & ham sandwich with pepper jack cheese, kosher dills and the sweet & spicy mustard. Very nice.
Thank you for the chocolate milkshake! I am browsing photobucket for pictures to use on emails and comics. The library computer goes fast on that and slower than mine on GoComics. ~ go figure! I’m thinking about trying to boil some more eggs today.
Hy, have you been out yet? It’s a fantastic day out here today. The humidity is gone too. My errands took longer than I thought, but it was so nice I wish I was still out there.
Grog-
I’ve been in pool-maintenance mode most of the morning, between laundry runs. It’s gorgeous out there, if a bit windy. Wifey is in her small bathing suit on the chaise lounge beside the pool.
Hy, I find it hard to find a good lean pastrami. I even found Jason’s Deli to be rather disappointing a few weeks back when I went there for lunch. Very fatty.
LuvH8, sorry that you keep on missing me. At least I know that I can find you here. These days I am pretty busy With school and work. That’s the reason why I don’t log on mostly until the evening.
Grog- agreed. I find Jason’s pastrami to be fatty and stringy. There’s a deli in Fort Worth that supposedly has really good pastrami, but I haven’t had the chance to try it.
LW- all is well here. The pool installation was thankfully problem free, so far. We’ve used the spa several times, because it’s small and easy (and cheap) to heat. Today is the first time we’ve tried to heat the whole pool; my brother and his wife are coming over this evening.
hymenoxis sorry, I had to do some work (clean out garage) and didn’t get back. I am always trying new things with liquor. I could probably work as a bartender except I suck at telling jokes.
Well, looks like I have the honor of first flag on sexymm and her cheap knockoffs.
*Hy* you’ve been very chatty today, makes me sad that today I was out all day.
Luv8 I liked X-Men Origins: Wolverine It sorta made sense as to why Wolverine doesn’t remember much of his past.
Okay, Stormy update: She’s still hanging in there. Noticeably weaker, though. She can’t easily jump up on stuff she could get up to last week. A few times I’ve woke up to find her laying on her side, legs out, breathing slowly. After a few minutes she perks up and usually demands I drop everything and feed her. Mind you, it’s usually about 3am. Overall she seems comfortable and reasonably content, and enjoying the times I can hold her for extended periods of time.
Later I’ll mention the craft fair I was at today with my snowflakes and necklaces.
Busy day. 2 loads of laundry, errands and then mowed the lawn since it’s supposed to rain tomorrow. Now can relax with comics and play flag the spammer.
Just passing through. I haven’t been feelling well these last few days so I haven’t even had a chance to read my toons. I notice some people have been mentioning ice crream and I didn’t even feel like getting any.
Well I have to make some supper [unless Cleo will let me have some liver from yesterday. I suppose it makes me weird, but I love liver] Then I have to get ready for work. BLAAAH for that.
(Takes sip from cup) I’m puzzled! I want to be a good functioning member here and I know about the no discussing of politics and religion rule, but is there any other rules that I don’t know about or may have forgotten.
Grog, all is well here. I slept like all day. My oldest called me at 4:47am for a ride from her high school. She had gone on a Senior Trip to Orlando. She was going to have a ride home and that fell through.
Two hours already….I just finished up supper and watch Dr Who
Alas and alak, though, I still have stuff to do. I was all day at the craft fair…..only one of us sold stuff and that was just two pairs of pliers. Our sunshiney warm day was actually drizzily with rain and chilly. I was tucked in the teaching classroom with another seller (candles) so I was out of the rain, but only had a few lookie-loos. It was the same outside. Sigh. $10 flew out the window…but better to try and fail than to never try,
So Krispy Kreams for all, and to all a good night.
Grog, what about Tim Curry? He was in the first Charlie’s Angels. The second one was okay, but it didn’t have Bill Murray.
Never Been Kissed is a chick flick, but I think dudes might like it too.
He was good. The only one I didn’t particularly care for was Drew but then even in the classics there are actors I love to hate and will not have in my movie collection.
The only exception to that rule is Richard Burton in Where Eagles Dare & The Longest Day
Carmy, The Longest Day was one of those movies with a star-studded cast. John Wayne, Henry Fonda & Robert Mitchum are the big 3. It also stars - among many others - Jeffrey Hunter, Sean Connery & Red Buttons,
I’d like to see more Ginger Rogers movies - sans Fred Astaire. She was pretty good in the serious role I saw her in recently. It was with Katherine Hepburn, but I forgot (unfortunately) the name of the movie.
Gene Kelly was also very good in the more serious role of Inherit the Wind. I just saw it tonight. Excellent movie with a great cast.
Dry, yes I did. And I will be trying to get that money back, but I’m not holding my breath. Fortunately, it will not break me if I don’t.
An as much I was once a big Sci-Fi fan, I’m not so much now. Perhaps it’s too much emphasis on special effects and not enough on acting & story telling. But I think I liked “V” better than Alien Nation. I found it very disappointing.
In movies I loved, War of the Worlds & The Day the Earth Stood Still. The Twilight Zone & Original Star Trek were my favorite TV shows.
Carmy, there was the original mini-series, I believe with a follow up. I think they did a television show after that, but the show didn’t last. I think it was too costly for TV as most SCI-FI of that nature is.
Let’s not forget “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, the remake wasn’t bad either, and the remake of “The Thing” with Kurt Russell was WAY BETTER than the original!
“Forbidden Planet” was good. I loved “The Thin Man” series and had most of the movies on dvd. I liked “War Of The Worlds” with Gene Berry. that was one of the first movies that really scared me. But no movie ever has scared me as much as “The Haunting Of Hill House.”
Found it. I was never up that much on horror movies, though I do have Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein, The Invisible Man & The Mummy Of course I also have Young Frankenstein, but that’s no horror film!
The Haunting is the movie you want to see Grog. They remade the movie a few years ago with all of the special effects and did not come near to achieving the fear and anxiety of the original. When I saw it in the theater, during one scene, my entire row dropped beneath the back of the seat in front of them. I think it is a very well done movie. This is a movie from I believe the 1960s.
cleo, yes!. Thanks for reminding me. I forgot all about him. I saw that a little while back - maybe a year or two ago.
I like Clifton Webb and I’d like to add that one to my collection.
The Sci Fi movie that REALLY SCARED THE BEE GEEPERS out of me was “The Man with the XRay Eyes’ with Ray Milland. That movie scared the cra p out of me!
I don’t know if I could even watch it now!
The movies that creeped me out were the Dracula movies. That’s why I didn’t watch them. I never did like being “creeped out”, so I tried to avoid them. Then there was Dawn of the Dead, which just made me want to up-chuck!
Dry when I went to see Dawn of the Dead, one of the women coming out of the theatre said as we were going in “I hope none of these people ate before this movie.” It was the 8PM showing and we just came from a restaraunt!

LuvH8, it’s a pool league most of the time. Occasionally I enter tournaments. My leagues are Thursday evening and Saturday afternoons, but I don’t play every week. You have eight players, but only five play on a given day. Everybody gets to play about the same number of times for each “season”.
Catch you all later. Have fun Everyone! P&L

GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Dry, yes I did. And I will be trying to get that money back, but I’m not holding my breath. Fortunately, it will not break me if I don’t.
An as much I was once a big Sci-Fi fan, I’m not so much now. Perhaps it’s too much emphasis on special effects and not enough on acting & story telling. But I think I liked “V” better than Alien Nation. I found it very disappointing.
In movies I loved, War of the Worlds & The Day the Earth Stood Still. The Twilight Zone & Original Star Trek were my favorite TV shows.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago

Stargate Atlantis is an excellent SciFi show!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, there was the original mini-series, I believe with a follow up. I think they did a television show after that, but the show didn’t last. I think it was too costly for TV as most SCI-FI of that nature is.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Let’s not forget “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, the remake wasn’t bad either, and the remake of “The Thing” with Kurt Russell was WAY BETTER than the original!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Dry, I will be doing that, but as I said, the loss will not break me. It’s not going to cost me food on the table or anything of that nature.
A lot of people pay good money for contractors etc because they have to and get shafted in the end sometimes.

“Forbidden Planet” was good. I loved “The Thin Man” series and had most of the movies on dvd. I liked “War Of The Worlds” with Gene Berry. that was one of the first movies that really scared me. But no movie ever has scared me as much as “The Haunting Of Hill House.”

ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
All these shows that I have no knowledge of. They must have been pretty good shows to watch.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
The Haunting is the movie you want to see Grog. They remade the movie a few years ago with all of the special effects and did not come near to achieving the fear and anxiety of the original. When I saw it in the theater, during one scene, my entire row dropped beneath the back of the seat in front of them. I think it is a very well done movie. This is a movie from I believe the 1960s.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
