Good breakfast Terry. I will have a steak, rare and the hashbrown casserole. And since I want caffeine, give me both a Pirate and Nuclear coffee. That way when I feel the meltdown I can go down with the ship.
My Mother’s Day went fine. Somebody even made a great rhubarb coffee cake. When I dropped my daughter off tonight and she wished me a final ‘Happy Mother’s Day’, I almost wished her a ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ also. We both decided that it was a good thing I didn’t have to do that. (laughter)
Wait, I am not sure that is totally right. If someone acts as a mother to another person, it is nice to acknowledge it in some way. But I am not ready to be a grandmother yet. I may never be ready.
LONEWOLF I’ll take the steak and eggs please but don’t tell my one and only. SHE has a cholesterol problem and thinks I should eat accordingly.
CLEO On Mothers day my mother warned me about mixing coffee and even hinted I might be the result of such an experiment. Imagine that, a sarcastic little Lew running around.

Lewreader, that’s the nice thing about virtual food. The cholesterol is also virtual and therefor can only be detected with virtual testing. How sweet. So, enjoy your steak and eggs today!

Hello Doc. Mixing nuclear coffee with pirate coffee has given me the desire to become the scurge of the seven seas and the ability to radiate debilitating rays that subdue targets within a two mile radius.
How about the steak and eggs (over easy), with Texas toast, orange juice, and a big cuppa Nuclear Coffee. (No Kryptonian for me–that stuff’s dangerous!) Thanks!

Oh, and I have a bridge in London I’m trying to sell. Anyone interested?
Hmmmm, steak and eggs. I’ve never had that for breakfast. Sounds good. Medium-well with the hash brown casserole thingie and diet Dr Pepper. Thanks.
Hello everyone cool and windy here. I enjoyed my Mother’s Day my daughter gave me a cute home made card with a picture of her Golden Retriever on it. My son who usually doesn’t gave me a hug.
Last of my suture is out, I gain more shoulder movement, notice popping ended more bone adjusting, and still with therapy. Life is grand. Told the Dr. I notice when weather changes and when it’s cold out bothers my shoulder but I guess this happens with shoulder surgery. I am happy moving alone.
Don’t know if tornado spotters are here. I thought with cool weather and slight rain wouldn’t have tornado problems.
yyyguy I noticed that. I didn’t hit post and it took and showed just one. But 15 minutes later I refresh and there are two. No wonder I was suddenly tired….
Anyway, one post removed.
You know, it’s really weird. I find myself anticipating seeing the kitten I might adopt. I miss Stormy like heck, but I don’t seem to go long without one. When Vasquez died I wasn’t going to get one for a while, but our other cat, Janie, was driving my hubby crazy. She was a one-person kitty, and if looks could kill she could have dropped me at any time. Anyway she kept maiowing and pestering and pestering and maiowing, so we went ahead and got Stormy not quite 3 weeks later. Janie took one look at the kitten, bolted for the stairs and came down only to eat after that. Eventually hubby kept food and water in his room, and there was a kitty box in the bathroom upstairs as well as downstairs.
She sure learned her lesson….be careful what you ask for.
Okay. Gonna hit post once, lets see what happens…..
similar thing happened to my brother’s family. their cat passed away, and they decided to get another. they couldn’t decide between between two and took both. next thing they knew, they were sharing a house with four cats (but they love them all). at least they keep each other company.
Good (almost) afternoon, tribeandall!
Looks like they’ve upgraded our risk for tornadoes to high for this afternoon/evening. Although, it does look like Tulsa is in the center of the high risk area, Wichita is just inside the edge of it.
Grog - Glad to hear it is going better there. After I get my Algebra test done, I need to work on clearing up my desk area. Plenty to keep me busy, but at least not near as stressful as a few months ago.
Yeah, a lot of my stuff needed filing too - in another room. Because of space limitations, I keep my movie collection in my office and my books & other files that can’t be put in my office in a spare bed room.
I definitely need to declutter my whole home. I really want to declutter the books, but my hubby won’t hear of it at all. It’s not like I’m talking trash can….book sales or other places that may take books.
I’ve got two 5 drawer filing cabinets within reach, one on each side of the desk. Biggest problem is the pile of stuff on the floor behind my chair. Those either don’t have a specified place to put them, or it is in another area. (Usually the first.)
Quaby - I need to declutter my whole house, too! I’ve got lots and lots of books. I’ve been giving away books as the opportunity presents itself, but still have a bunch. I won’t get rid of ALL of our books - some are irreplaceable. But when I’m done with homeschooling, I will reduce the books to just what I really want to keep. There are a couple “used book” (& other school-related items) for homeschoolers in Wichita each year. But we won’t be finished this year in time, so I’m aiming for next year’s. I did put up our geometry curriculum on an on-line auction that starts tomorrow, so I hope that sells.
@DocT, a local armory had a leaky roof–so when the weather got nice, the contractor tore off what was there to fix things.
And then the rains began…
Still going, and the leaks are now downpours evidently. One of their people spends half days just going around to empty buckets–and 55 gallon garbage cans!
I suppose it would be a bad idea to get rid of clutter by taking all the stuff I am not allowed to get rid of, storing it in the garage and accidently setting it on fire?
@LuvH8, that sounds like the Army. One of their units, after a long investigation process into their records, determined that certain files were no longer needed. So they asked higher-ups if they could purge those files.
They received permission–after a suitable (lengthy) delay–saying they could destroy those files, but only if copies were made and archived….
Doc - I saw that and I don’t doubt it. Although I do remember getting much more snow when I was a kid than we have the past 15 or so years (not including this year). The earlier part of this year I felt like the weather was getting back to “normal” (as if there is such a thing in CO), but now I’m just ready for it to be done. I want to get my garden planted.
I guess it is a VERY BAD IDEA (big sigh and pouty face). There is too much stuff that isn’t mine and stuff that is supposedly mine that I can’t get rid of. I don’t understand how something can be mine if I am not allowed to get rid of it.
LuvH8 - Maybe you could pray for lightning to strike the garage? Sometimes, a tornado sounds like the easiest way to move. Right now though, I’m not really ready to let go of everything.
@Grog, LOL! I agree. I can’t help but think of a couple of scenes from the Addams Family Value movie…
Edit: Here (00:51-01:20) and another I cannot find on the ‘net–where Pubert goes flying high enough so the passenger on the jet plane sees him and closes her window…
While hoping Rrmom is safe, Tacos are being served in the BT. All kinds of taco shells/wraps, meat served mild, medium, hot and OH BOY!!! Fixings bar is there, too, all the veggies and cheeses, and jalepeno’s in case the OH BOY isn’t quite hot enough. Tequila shots, complete with worm, available upon request. Otherwise it’s the normal beverage bar complete with Nuclear Coffee.
Hello all, it’s a busy day. I just stopped in, it has been a busy day and continues to be so. bmonk, I am not a naked nuclear pirate. I have a patch and cutlass. Don’t worry, I am protecting precious parts from the blade.
Ráðúlfr, I am informed on the ‘net, means “wise wolf.” It’s a temporary change in honor of the Old Wolf wedding another Pibby Confusion Couch member, viz:
Let it be known…
that Old Wolf married Dancing Wolf on May 7th 2010 at 6:27 PM . Let the celebration begin.
Therefore MaineSqueeze is now Dancing Wolf.
So, spontaneously, many have gone to lupine names, at least for today.
Ah, so it’s back to bmonk tomorrow, then. Since you were bmonk when I left the plant, I was surprised to see the change when I got home. It seems like it wasn’t so long ago that you were bunnyface
It’s not that much of a change, really ♠Lonewolf♠. It’s the same system with an accounting change that affects me. Although I’d have to say we are taking some backwards steps and losing some very convenient functionality - some customization. That is hardly a step forward and not increasing productivity - which is what change should be all about.
Whoa…someone has really been at the OH BOY!!! I am not responsible for any ulcers and/or gastric distress. We’re all grownups here….I think.
Anway *Ladyhawke hope you enjoyed them. I had the mild on a bed of lettuce w/corn, tomatoes, onions and cheese. I had a couple of taco shells to go with it, but mostly it was just salad. Yum Yum Yum.

Hey, Quaby! Thanks for supper! Actually, that does give me a good idea for supper. I hadn’t started fixing it yet, because I didn’t want to leave things on the stove if I had to go hide in the basement.
There were several tornado sightings in the Wichita area, but even though we’re still under a tornado watch until 10pm, I think the worse is over. I’m still watching the radar, to see how my husband is doing. He was staying at work late - plenty of work to do, and a safer building than a 5th wheel trailer in a tornado.
All good ♠Lonewolf♠. Of course we could go on and on.
I think my favorite slow songs/ballades are Angie, Beast Of Burden & Waiting On A Friend. I also love 19th Nervous Breakdown, Get Off My Cloud, It’s Only Rock’n Roll(But I Like It) & Start Me Up.
Grog - I liked the Newhart show too. But I had a friend who could top the Larry, Darryl & other brother Darryl bit. He was a MIT grad, so extremely intelligent (in other words, nothing like the guys on TV). His name was Bob, and he & his biological sister were adopted by a couple who also adopted another boy from other parents. The other boy was around 12 at the time, and was also called Bob. So, my friend would say, “I’m Bob, and this is my brother Bob, who’s an only child.”
I think I am sick & tired of that officiating crew.. And now I know I am. They may as well hand the game to the Pens on a platter! They’re certainly calling a one-way game.
Good to be back! Lots of different storm reports, but overall, not too bad considering what could have happened.
“A rain-wrapped tornado churning toward downtown Wichita late Monday afternoon lifted just before it reached the city, weather officials said.”
Of course, the reports are still coming in, but from what I’m reading, it wasn’t near as bad as some tornado outbreaks.
Good day everyone, bread is in the oven and all the prep work is done, just awaiting LilG & her mom, which could be any moment, but thought that I would catch up.
Rmom ~ Since I can’t watch any of the hockey games. I decided to cheer for the Penguins just because of this dancing penguin. Think it annoys the serious fans?
Grog, I just added my comment at the Real McCoys. I thought of not adding it, but it comes across as a bit obscene, but then I did, because it is really not.
Ohhhh, freshly baked bread. Wonder how it goes with taco meat,,,
Ice cream bar is open. I got to run, but I made me a quick bowl. Got more flavors than a Baskin Robins. Enjoy!!!
Oh, and several types of liquids for floats. XXX (Triple X) rootbeer from my summertime visits to Mom’s aunt and uncle (who raised her….long story). It was great stuff, but I don’t even know if it’s made anymore. I know I haven’t seen it in at least 30 years.
Goodnight Tribe Trying to get ahead on my sleep bank.
LuvH8, bmonk and anyone else who cares….
What about Moms and/or kids for this week’s joke theme?
Here’s one joke to get the ball rolling…
While on maternity leave, a woman from our office brought in her new bundle of joy. She also had her seven-year- old son with her. Everyone gathered around the baby, and the little boy asked, “Mommy, can I have some money to buy a soda?”
“What do you say?” she asked.
Respectfully, the boy replied, “You’re thin and beautiful.” The woman reached in her purse and gave her son the money.
I think my most of my favorites though were from the Sixties, when they truly were the “Bad Boys Of Rock & Roll.” By the 70’s everybody was trying to get in on the act.
One more joke and then I’m out of here for tonight.
An adorable little girl walked into my pet shop and asked, “Excuse me, do you have any rabbits here?”
“I do,” I answered, and leaning down to her eye level I asked, “Did you want a white rabbit or would you rather have a soft, fuzzy black rabbit?”
She shrugged. “I don’t think my python really cares.”
Doc, I must have mentioned at least once that I had eight weekend garage sales in a row and eight weeks of dumpster pickups. I lived in my parents old home and they lived during the depression so they got rid of very few things.
I remember my whole process of moving, which I said took eight weeks full time. It seemed daunting, there was so much to do. Fortunately, the buyer gave me an extra month to close. I worked 4 days a week packing, tossing and setting up for a garage sale. Then my garage sale went every weekend for 3 days. Finally when everything was gone or in storage, or at my new residence, I remember sweeping out the garage, which was the final act of completion. It felt so good to have every part of the move and dispersal of items in the past. Good luck, it will all be over soon Doc.
I never did like moving because There’s always the chance of something being broke in the process or lost, and misplaced things that are important that you can never seem to find as you unpack.

I’d only want to do that to my office (in the plant), but not any part of my house!

Um….. Grog we are not calling this avatar ‘Whitey Duck’!
ldyhwkd over 14 years ago
Doc - I saw that and I don’t doubt it. Although I do remember getting much more snow when I was a kid than we have the past 15 or so years (not including this year). The earlier part of this year I felt like the weather was getting back to “normal” (as if there is such a thing in CO), but now I’m just ready for it to be done. I want to get my garden planted.

The garage is separate building.
I guess it is a VERY BAD IDEA (big sigh and pouty face). There is too much stuff that isn’t mine and stuff that is supposedly mine that I can’t get rid of. I don’t understand how something can be mine if I am not allowed to get rid of it.

Hi cleo & Idyhwkd
Ráðúlfr (bmonk), what are you trying to do to us? And yes please tell us what it means.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Today went much better than last Monday, ♠Lonewolf♠. It should get even better as the week goes on.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I’m glad to hear that, Grog. I could “feel” the frustration in your posts last week.
bmonk over 14 years ago
Ráðúlfr, I am informed on the ‘net, means “wise wolf.” It’s a temporary change in honor of the Old Wolf wedding another Pibby Confusion Couch member, viz:
Let it be known… that Old Wolf married Dancing Wolf on May 7th 2010 at 6:27 PM . Let the celebration begin.
Therefore MaineSqueeze is now Dancing Wolf.
So, spontaneously, many have gone to lupine names, at least for today.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I guess I got too used to everything going right all the time, ♠Lonewolf♠, Dallas’ lack of communication aside.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
I figured something along those lines but wasn’t sure.
I’m with you on that one, now Ráðúlfr (bmonk)
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Change in a business is always difficult to accept, Grog. Especially when things have gone very well as they were!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Ah, so it’s back to bmonk tomorrow, then. Since you were bmonk when I left the plant, I was surprised to see the change when I got home. It seems like it wasn’t so long ago that you were bunnyface
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
It’s not that much of a change, really ♠Lonewolf♠. It’s the same system with an accounting change that affects me. Although I’d have to say we are taking some backwards steps and losing some very convenient functionality - some customization. That is hardly a step forward and not increasing productivity - which is what change should be all about.
bmonk over 14 years ago
@Grog, we are in the 6th week of Easter, so it was about a month ago I dropped the bunnyface–but then I’d been using it for, what, two months?

Thank you Quaby I like salad.
Grog I like Paint It Black. Do you think it is a ‘bad thing’? After all it is kind of a sad song.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
All good ♠Lonewolf♠. Of course we could go on and on.
I think my favorite slow songs/ballades are Angie, Beast Of Burden & Waiting On A Friend. I also love 19th Nervous Breakdown, Get Off My Cloud, It’s Only Rock’n Roll(But I Like It) & Start Me Up.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Nothing wrong with that, LuvH8.

Yay!!! Way To Go Penguins!!Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Good to be back! Lots of different storm reports, but overall, not too bad considering what could have happened. “A rain-wrapped tornado churning toward downtown Wichita late Monday afternoon lifted just before it reached the city, weather officials said.” Of course, the reports are still coming in, but from what I’m reading, it wasn’t near as bad as some tornado outbreaks.

Oh, and several types of liquids for floats. XXX (Triple X) rootbeer from my summertime visits to Mom’s aunt and uncle (who raised her….long story). It was great stuff, but I don’t even know if it’s made anymore. I know I haven’t seen it in at least 30 years.

LuvH8, bmonk and anyone else who cares…. What about Moms and/or kids for this week’s joke theme?
Here’s one joke to get the ball rolling…
While on maternity leave, a woman from our office brought in her new bundle of joy. She also had her seven-year- old son with her. Everyone gathered around the baby, and the little boy asked, “Mommy, can I have some money to buy a soda?” “What do you say?” she asked. Respectfully, the boy replied, “You’re thin and beautiful.” The woman reached in her purse and gave her son the money.

Hi Grog how was your movie? I’m watching Gladiator (Not the one with Russel Crowe in it.)

I think my most of my favorites though were from the Sixties, when they truly were the “Bad Boys Of Rock & Roll.” By the 70’s everybody was trying to get in on the act.

Ladywolf. I’m still watching it. It’s nearly over. I love Key Largo. One of my all-time fav’s.
I didn’t realize there was another Gladiator. I’m planning on selling my version to the resale market.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
One more joke and then I’m out of here for tonight.
An adorable little girl walked into my pet shop and asked, “Excuse me, do you have any rabbits here?” “I do,” I answered, and leaning down to her eye level I asked, “Did you want a white rabbit or would you rather have a soft, fuzzy black rabbit?” She shrugged. “I don’t think my python really cares.”

Doc, I must have mentioned at least once that I had eight weekend garage sales in a row and eight weeks of dumpster pickups. I lived in my parents old home and they lived during the depression so they got rid of very few things.

Doc, June First right?
cleokaya over 14 years ago
I remember my whole process of moving, which I said took eight weeks full time. It seemed daunting, there was so much to do. Fortunately, the buyer gave me an extra month to close. I worked 4 days a week packing, tossing and setting up for a garage sale. Then my garage sale went every weekend for 3 days. Finally when everything was gone or in storage, or at my new residence, I remember sweeping out the garage, which was the final act of completion. It felt so good to have every part of the move and dispersal of items in the past. Good luck, it will all be over soon Doc.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
