Your not the only one who gets confused by name changes. I won’t be on too long. I have all my books now for Jr. college ordered off ebay, used, took back the ones from bookstore, if I where to try sell them I would be our of a lot of cash. This way when comes I pass and don’t need some of them financially I won’t loose a bundle of cash. The refund went to cc still owe a lot of money. Now on my book getting closer to last two chapters and getting real interesting. When that book is finally done very soon I hope. Start working on my Jr. college books and taking notes so when 2nd class does start won’t be to bad, hope not famous last words. I don’t think I can memorize it all. My daughter did this a few years ago but went to actuall class.

For me it will be easier and less stress to work here tv can go off. This way I won’t feel like I’m the oldest in class. And what I understand on-line is more popular wish it didn’t cost a lot of money, as I would be working in class but home and I can read.

@Kab Buch - Don’t fret so much about being the oldest in the class - it can be a lot of fun too. Although back when I did that - I was the oldest at the ripe age of 25. Of course that was a few decades ago before it became popular for us older folks to go back to school.

My daughter now at 30 is the second oldest in her class. She is amazed at the difference in her attitude about classes and the ‘kids’. Nothing like life’s experiences to make you appreciate learning!

@Kab - I agree with hendelca. I’m definately not the youngest in my class at 36, but there are a few older also. It is a completely different perspective being an adult and going through school again.

For books, check out textbooks.com. I was able to get my text for this class used, and with their guaranteed buyback it will only cost me about $7.

Re: being oldest in class. IT’s the same in a workforce. I swear to God they are hiring toddlers!!! No way these kids are even out of high school, much less college. They’re so ‘fresh faced’ it’s blinding. I still get floored when the Interns come in during the school year, it takes a college degree to do my job. Huh??? Yeah, 2 courses. 1) How to fill in a computer form and 2) advanced problem solving or “I know the customer’s right, but what if he’s wrong?”

I’m warming up some bean soup, I have to leave for the doctor’s about 2pm. Still want a quick shower, I don’t stinketh, however, most tests don’t like baby powder. Then to Wally World for the shopping trip. Whoo Who.

Hello it’s evening here and ones who responded to my comments about me being the oldest for a class, I wasn’t joking so far one said they will be 39 I’m still older. That’s why I rather take classes on line. Although I know of one guy attends same church as I he is one year older out of work and going in debt for an associate’s degree.

We have had 4 days of really nice non-humid weather with days starting out at 59, 65,69,70 and today it got up to 84 this p.m. Tomorrow the heat is coming back for a day or two.

KAB, in an afternoon psychology class, I was the only one out of my teens by 15 years and got along fine–night class was 50/50 with day jobbers and FT students.

Looks like this year’s hurricanes are developing early and shunting north of the North American coastline. I’ve just got a new telescope, and tonight looks like a good night for viewing.

hymenoxis - What kind of telescope is it?

It’s a Meade 12” LX90 Schmidt Casseigrain. It’s got bells and whistles I haven’t discovered yet.

Could be, Hy. Many years ago, I was awed by the night view driving back from the Grand Canyon to Phoenix. One of the most beatifull night skies I’ve seen. Someone with a telescope would have a field day up there.

The 12” is a hulking beast…think about something smaller. I have an old-school ETX, and wanted a step up; I originally wanted a LX200 8”, but found this beheamoth on sale as a refurb from Meade. We got it, and it takes two adults to move it on its tripod.

hymenoxis - The weight of it and having to move it myself made me think of the 10” being a better choice but a 12” is sure tempting. Hope you can get a lot of enjoyable use out of it!

Had one fascinating night viewing stars from a homemade telescope a teacher made with our two families last summer at 10,500 elevation in Colorado above Lyons quite a ways. It took two to carry it.

Hello again everyone, someone said this morning to many names. Little Sister I’m well aware of scams. But I have a student ID #, not giving it out. and when closer time comes I will find out who instructer is and email that instructor when to expect. My reason’s for class on-line is if Understanding Psycholgy where to take place afternoon I can’t take that class. Where I went 10 years ago there where set times for certain classes and would not meet with most workers time. Plus I will not have wear and tear on car and tires , nor worry about being late to work afternoon.

Here is not to bad on temps cooling down but no breeze make house to hot.

I’m surprise to see so many especially on a Friday night. I thought you Lonewolf would be at pool league and Little Sis out somewhere. For night sky viewing the only thing I found fascinating and I had to wear winter wear was when space shuttle and space station came so close to earth awesome.

Kab, I’ve been a few places in my time. But there was nothing like that area in northern Arizona in the night sky.

Our local news said it would be over Wichita, KS at a certain time for close to a few minutes it came from far northwest moved clear to far south east. It was so awesome my hubby and daughter saw it to. We almost froze since it happened closer to fall. We seen the out line of white space station. My sister and brother-in-law where driving home I believe from a show from civic center and they missed it and non of our neighbors went out to see it.

By the way I check textbook.com and didn’t see the area I was looking for and the prices there where high fairly close to what Jr. College prices. The books I got from ebay where far cheeper and same subject.
