This gives me the opportunity to re-use the joke I came up with four years ago. What’s the difference between Brett Favre and Bart Starr? Bart Starr knows he’s too old to still be playing.

looks like the Vikings won’t win the Super Bowl this year (again). what ever happened to Bud Grant and Joe Kapp (or even Fran Tarkenton, for crying out loud)?

Fran is ripping Favre every chance he gets. Those other guys are dead.

Is it me, or is this getting old?

At least I get this series… I’m not that hip to the Chicago Transit Authority (at least not since the early Eighties).

HA!Great strip today:-) In Brett’s defense….{though, yes,it’s true,he does make good comic fodder} ,mutiple concussions can lead to poor decision making skills. As a multiple head banger myself (yes,I like to rock, but I mean that I simply haven’t protected my noggin very well) that you just…now what was I talking about???…

I’m another team’s fan but this is what I think of when I think of the vikes:

lessee, the vikings—purple people eaters, jim marshall wrong way run, joe kapp 6 td game, fran tark carrying over from the giants his elusive scampering while looking for a receiver, the heavily favored team over KC in superbowl 4, moss & kulpepper–shoulda woulda coulda… now with adrian peterson , defense looks good—-they should be developing their own QB superstar…then they just might do it….favre, come on— how long can that last?

Wrong. Just Wrong. Who knew Favre knew Shakespeare?

Susan, Coca-Cola didn’t put drugs in their beverage. They used coca leaves, which had trace amounts of what becomes cocaine when you process them differently. They changed how they process the leaves to eliminate that substance, but the legend that aspirin would activate the effects of it remained for years.

    For those who are curious:

    (1) I didn’t make the cut for WWTBAM this time. Might re-audition in a couple weeks, though. Will see.

    (2) Got my ISBN for TNAOQV Book 4, “Suffragettes Gone Wild!” today. Will start taking pre-orders next month for delivery either in October or November, depending on when or if I ever get the introduction from the person I’ve asked to write it. The rest of the book is ready to go to print.

    (3) Cover price for book 4 will be $8.99. Direct-From-Me price will be $6.99. Pre-order price will be $5.99, same as the three current books.

    (4) Price will be higher because the new book will come in a new, larger, easier to read size: 6.625” x 10.5” (“standard” comic book size) and will include at least 60 pages of strips (maybe more if the introduction ends up being shorter than planned).

    (5) The mystery person I’ve asked to provide the introduction is someone who had a cameo in the strip some time in the past 12 months. I don’t want to say the name and jinx it actually happening.

    (6) Stocks are low now for Books 1 & 2, and when I have to go back to the printer I intend to re-publish them in the new, nicer, larger format that’s easier to read. When it looks like I’m ready to do that I’ll do a blow out bargain basement sale on them in the store.
