Given the same question, I wonder what her answer would be.

Dad, be careful what you wish for, you might just get it.

Calvin, to paraphrase one of Robert Heinlein’s characters, some days I don’t know whether you’re smarter than other people or just a complete sophist.

This post does not reflect on todays comic installment so much as it represents one man’s opinion of the series as a whole. I have been reading Calvin and Hobbes for almost 20 years, and I must say that it is the best comic strip that I have ever had the pleasure of reading. God bless you Bill Watterson. :-)

He’d better stick with the one he’s got, or else he’ll be the “running mate”…

This is a two way street. If they’re smart, Mom and Dad will keep Hobbs and vote in someone else to take Calvin’s place.

See the size of Mom’s fist? I think the fist cast the deciding vote. On the other hand calvins butt should be seeing more of Mom’s open palm.

Calvin would be better off with Opal and Earl - who have better imaginations, cause then he would now have Bondie and Mark Trail as his parents.

Does the following news item sound somewhat familiar?

October 16, 2009 in ‘The Republican’ Springfield, MA Boy found safe at home A nation watched on television, wondering about the fate of a small boy presumably alone in a balloon flying above the Colorado countryside. But in the end, 6-year-old Falcon Heene was found hiding in a cardboard box in his family’s garage attic Thursday, and not aboard a homemade helium balloon that hurtled 50 miles through the sky while being watched by millions on live television. The boy’s father Richard Heene, said he had scolded Falcon for getting inside a compartment on the craft earlier in the day, and then the boy, frightened, hid in the garage.

Puddleglum2 I heard about that. I wasn’t listening closely as I was getting ready to go to work.

Didn’t I hear that the boy said that daddy told him to hide in the garage? Or was I mistaken in what I thought I heard?

BC13, From the full article: The boy’s father, Richard Heene, said the family was tinkering with the balloon Thursday and that he scolded Falcon for getting inside a compartment on the craft. He said Falcon’s brother had seen him inside the compartment before it took off and that’s why they thought he was in there when it launched. But the boy fled to the attic at some point after the scolding and was never in the balloon during its two-hour 50-mile journey through two counties. “I yelled at him. I’m really sorry I yelled at him,” Heene said as he hugged his son during a news conference. “I was in the attic and he scared me because he yelled at me,” Falcon said. “That’s why I went in the attic.” Richard Heene adamantly denied the notion that the whole thing was a big publicity stunt.

Concerning the boy yesterday GMA talked to the family and then the authorities. The police have watched also what has been said by the family and plan to investegate more. Personnally as a parent I’m not sure what I would do relief for one thing and how could you pull a stunt like that didn’t you hear us screaming for you and how about all the people who helped look you. Maybe grounding.

Updates on Balloon Boy seem to indicate that it was a hoax. Boy let something to that effect slip during an interview. Seems that the family seeks media attention…. The Sheriff’s department is looking further into the incident.
