When Calvin’s mother tossed him out, was she “overstepping the bounds of propriety”? Anyway, getting Calvin off to school was a step (or two) in the right direction.
Check the thermos in your lunchbox, Calvin! It might have broken when it hit the ground, but “don’t cry over spilled milk”!
In a couple of hours mom will be sitting down with a jug of margarita’s and a contented look on her face. a few hours after that the frown will beging to creep back, and a 4pm as the door opens and the inevitable tiger-boy collision occurs it becomes the familiar full faced scowl that all young boys are used to seeing and recognise as the loving face of mom!
The strips are played in the correct order, but since C+H ended ten years and a month after it began, and they probably already went through a round of reruns, the strips are off their original dates.
This one was probably originally published in early September
Calvin should be thankful his parents are sending him off to regular school instead of MILITARY school … although I’m not really sure that THEY’D have him either!!!!!
I didn’t see the Staples commercial this year and I missed it. I love the part where he’s gliding on the shopping cart like he’s on skates!
Mom’s planning on sending our little darling to pre-school next year and I’ll be crushed. I figured we had a couple more years before she starts kindergarden. I never sent my son because I figured he’d hate the long years he’d be stuck in school so why extend the torment. Mom looked around and found a pre-school that would take her at three years old so she wouldn’t have to wait until she was four. Mom’s always been in a hurry for her to grow up and doesn’t play with her instead buys her trendy clothes and shoes, little einstein stuff, toy pagers and cell phones etc. My son’s the one who does imaginative play stuff and runs around with her being silly. I have to remind myself all the time that we don’t own her but are just renting!

Hey Calvin, just go hide in the garage while mom & dad launch this balloon and rehearse our lines for the 911 call. Who didn’t see that one coming?
