What Calvin fails to take into consideration is that eventually people from Earth will inhabit Mars and then it too will be totally polluted and unfit to live on. What we fail to deal with, as a species, is that wherever we run to we drag our own garbage [sometimes literally] right along with us. As N7326 Foxtrot says, in the comment above me, Watch out Mars!
I’m with pearlandpeach. i have all the books. They’re worn from reading and re-reading and being borrowed by friends. but each day i check in here for the smile. calvin and hobbes never fail to make me smile.
I agree with pearlandpeach and tonytiger29. Have read them all before but I go to this site every day first thing after checking the news when I get to work. Great way to start the day. The fact that I have Saturday and Sunday to catch up on makes Monday a tiny bit more bearable.

Wagon Ho!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
You better bring some sun block, too! And a few shade trees. Oh yeah, sun glasses, water………………..

I can’t wait to see where this one is going. :-)

Wagon???….I’m with JesseUWG….I can’t wait to see where this one is going.
carmy about 15 years ago
Maybe the wagon will transmorgrify into a spaceship.
Praxsis about 15 years ago
He should just get in his time machine and go to a more simpler time.
Yukoner about 15 years ago
A six year old can make his wagon do anything he wants. All it takes is imagination and calvin has an abundance of that.
Higher, faster, further it is Captain Calvin.
Ivy0730Lcsq about 15 years ago
so , even the six-year-old Calvin is a man of action? Respect! and wish a triumph to Mars!

Beem me up Calvin!
dadallen85 about 15 years ago
who would have thought a six year old and a stuffed tiger would have better planning sessions than nasa
unemandarine about 15 years ago
Oh yes Calvin and Hobbes the great explorers… This is going to be some adventure…
Puddleglum2 about 15 years ago
Mars is ‘small potatoes’, Calvin. “Hitch your wagon to a star!”
wcorvi about 15 years ago
Ahhh, youth. Too bad it’s wasted on the young. You know, you can just buy the book, guys.
pearlandpeach about 15 years ago

@♠LoneWerewolf♠:
Uh. I think you’re thinking of Venus–Mars is VERY cold at all times (compared to Earth).
alondra about 15 years ago
Well they say men are from Mars and women are from Venus so at least Susie won’t be there. Neither will Roselyn or Mom!

Who’s going to make Calvin lunch for this adventure?
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Aikidodog
You are correct, I was thinking Venus. Nice catch.
Hugh B. Hayve about 15 years ago
Puddleglum2 about 15 years ago
Nice catch, Miss Wormwood, too! She just wants to give Calvin a hug, doesn’t she? Maybe Calvin can’t stand her heavy smoker’s breath.

Ride captain ride on your mystery ship. (from an old song)

That boy has real management potential. A born leader!
Aardvark359 about 15 years ago
Silly Calvin. Everyone knows that tigers can’t fly by flapping their arms. They flap their ears. Very fast. ;-)

Rakkav about 15 years ago
The best -laid plans of boys and tigers often go astray…:)
artisanx about 15 years ago
Spaceman Spiff could get there, no problem! Calvin could just hitch a ride, like usual.

Wonder why NASA never thought of using a wagon. I mean, what can a little red wagon cost anyway??
glitterygal07 about 15 years ago
I’m surprised that Calvin and Hobbes didn’t choose California or something like that. And Lol at the last panel.
tortugasurfcostarica about 15 years ago
Mars is a better choice than CA, no schools in outerspace. At least not yet.
pintcape about 15 years ago
going to mars in a wagon, how original.
