Math? Physics? Chemistry? Other sciences? English? French? Loved them all and many more. (So I was the asked, not the asker.)
The only courses that threw me off in any major way were certain kinds of phys. ed., shop and (until I hit my stride) drafting. But it took me until well into adulthood to discover a class that I absolutely LOATHED: accounting! :))
I find this all the funnier - and wonderfully explainable - thanks to having learned some Jungian typology. I have a feeling Calvin is going to loathe anything like accounting too.
Susan001: Yeah, I know. ENFP Calvin and INTJ Susie. Mutual Pedagogues. Voted the Couple Most Likely to Take Over the World in their senior yearbook in high school.
Both of them are brilliant, just in different ways. Calvin just needs to gain some focus: typical ENFP stumbling block.
(This man came up with the terms describing relationships between Jungian personality types, such as Pedagogues:)

Lewreader: Calvin might well make a great CEO (take that as you will), but I still think he’d make a lousy accountant (ditto)! If he were the opposite, a budding ISTJ, it would be different. As it is, he’s too imaginative and sensitive ever to love accounting. Managing his own company - that’s something else. ENFPs often do and do it well.
Whether Calvin would do any of the above ethically…that question transcends personality typing! :)
I think I hated most all my classes through High School. When I got to University there were 2 classes I truly loathed: That was Statistics and Marketing. I loved my Accounting & Finance classes.
This is right on my soap-box… All I ever heard while growing up was:
“Get A Good Education So You Can Get A Good Job”
I retired from a good job with all the bells and whistles but what I wish someone would have told me when I was spending all my time smoking on the “Smoking Dock” at Davison High School in Davison, MI. ~~We were aloud to smoke in school as long as we were inside the yellow lines next to the schools loading dock~~
Get A Good Education So You Can Help Your Kids With Their Homework…
This would have served me better… I will never forget that empty feeling when I wasn’t able to help my children because they knew more then I did and they needed the help!
And now here I am 50 years old and having to use O2 at night because of COPD and already having had two heart attacks.
Smoking is everything, every bad thing that is… they say it is!
I peeked at a smart girl’s answers on a True and False test once and I would have aced it except I got one line off when copying them down. To make flunking the test worse, the teacher noticed the distinct misallignment….
What makes this all the sillier is that you just know these two are gonna be going to the prom together, and Susie will be so glad Calvin didn’t drop dead.
@Johanan, I suspect you were an NFP too–besides accounting (which I carefully avoided), I also disliked typing, and spelling. All those fussy details, and no real, substantial rules or symbols to play with…
In high school algebra, geometry, trig, chemistry, physics, were great. But my favorites were the shop classes, always got straight As in those. English and Spanish I was OK at. Phys ed was a total disaster except gymnastics and swimming and those skills were only passable. We had to take two units of phys ed in Jr College, so I took golf for one and on a dare took “body development” (pumping iron on a universal machine and running around the track). I gained 10 pounds of muscle in 10 weeks and my mother complained that the grocery bill doubled!
the girl who sat next to me in 10th grade math used to give me the answers but i think it was because her brother told her i liked her (which i actually did)

Good try Calvin. I remember being on both ends of that action in high school. Good in math and English, lousy in French and chemistry.

Why does Calvin need school? He already has an education. He only needs to pass the bar exam.

Susie lacks finesse. Instead of telling Calvin to drop dead, she should have simply turned it around: “What did you get, Calvin?”
