Calvin, I think u have to stay alive and in one piece until Christmas to enjoy whatever Santa gives you. If I were u I will concentrate first on what is right ahead of me.

In the last frame, it looks as though the sled got dismembered in Dismemberment Gorge. I guess Santa won’t have to put much thought into what Calvin will get for Christmas.

No one, including ENFP’s, has integrity when it comes to Christmas loot..

If Santa sees you when you’re sleeping and knows when you’re awake and knows if you’ve been bad or good he knows your motivation behind it Calvin. He knows you’ll go right back to being bad as soon as you’ve opened your presents. If he can live with that it’s his business.

When my son was little, I told him that all parents are given Santa’s phone number when their kids are babies. This way, if a kid isn’t good, their parents can call Santa right away. It worked for a few years!

… Wow! I’m impressed. After hitting a tree and while flying though the air Calvin is able to actually speak . Hobbes don’t even need a “Thought Bobble” His hand on his forehead says it all… Calvin is deep too be sure!

I like that downhill discussion phrase, very apt. Mom and Dad and yes…Santa, would probably settle for what they get. They are at least looking for effort

BC13, I beg to differ. I’m an ENFP, and with regard to “Christmas loot” I was as far from Calvin’s attitude as one could possibly get. While inevitably I had my problems as a youngster, I was true to myself all year round - and I actually took Christmas seriously.

Then, of course, I found out where Christmas and the like came from and why, and I stopped keeping it in favor of the Sabbath, Festivals and Holy Days that the original Church kept. That was way back in 1976, and part of the best series of decisions I ever made.

Johanan Rakkov Then you are probably one of the few. I may not have indexed and alphebetized my list, but as a 6-year old , I was more like Calvin at Christmas than I care to admit - and I wasn’t an ENFP. Coming to think of it, so was my sister.

IndyMan - I had to “google” it too, in order to find out. I’m not good at distilling information into a few words, so you probably ought to do an internet search as well. It is a psychological abbreviation for a certain personality.

Indy thanks I wondered that myself and I’m not that old unless middle age is a geezer. Unfortunatly employers think I’m too old for office work they want very young.

I think these regular, albeit infrequent, downhill discussions are inspired by similar strip’s in Walt Kelly’s Pogo. At least that is what they have always reminded me of, I will have to go back and read my Pogo books be sure.
