Coming Soon đ At the beginning of April, youâll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Well, now we know the name of one of the parents (Dad, Iâm guessing): Zokbar-Z. :)) We canât claim anymore that Bill W. never told us the name of either parent.
And now we know why Calvin acts like a red-headed stepchild from another planet. He is one.
Wow, all that knowledge revealed in one day. Iâm so excited that I think Iâll go to bed and calm down. :))
@ LX013:
Manicotti is a large, tubular shaped pasta with a cooked diameter of about one inch (2.54 cm) and a length of about four inches (10.16 cm). Unlike other styles of pasta, manicotti is usually stuffed with various types of cheeses, meats, vegetables or seafood, and then baked in a cheese or tomato based sauce.
Itâs a great dinnerâŚdonât know if Iâd like it cold for breakfast though gag
When my girlfriend was getting married her family and friends made all the food served at the showers(6) and wedding reception including their cake. I got to meet her whole family and his bonding over cooking and freezing. To make a long story longer I learned how to make alot of pasta dishes like Lasagna, Manicotti and Ratatouille, over those weekends. It still brings me back there whenever I make or Iâm served one of those dishes.
LX013 Donât let CYMBOL fool you. Manicotti is a word you say before being forced to change and take her to dinner in a restaurant whoâs name ends in a vowel, This word should be used with care and never before a Sunday game..
No briefs Must be set in the mid 70s I know Calvin and Hobbes is set in the late 80s and early 90s so it must be Bill Watterson was a little more hippy back in the day then some thought
âPoised precariously over a percolating pit of putrid pasta.â Thatâs got to be one of the all time best lines!
Reminds me of the newly married couple sitting down to the wifeâs first home-cooked meal. As she serves her new spouse she says, âMy mother taught me how to cook. My best things are meatloaf and apple pie.â The new husband looks down at his plate and says, ââWhich is this?â
True, Spiff and Calvin alike are blond, but 1) the idiom is âred-headed stepchildâ and 2) if I changed it then someone likely wouldâve corrected me from the other direction. :))
Given a choice between literal and idiomatic correctness, Iâll take idiomatic correctness every time. It comes with being a Hebraist and (probably) a Jungian ENFP.
All these years and I never heard of manicotti I am ignorant I am sure
But cold pizza and warm flat beer for breakfast strikes fear in my body and soul
What kind of kid doesnât like macaroni? She REALLY has to be a god-awful cook.
When I was little I would not eat ricotta. The texture made me gag. My mother made meat versions of manicotti and ravioli for me instead. Something happened, now I love almost everything. Maybe Calvin canât tolerate ricotta yet either.
Ratlum, manicotti, properly pronounced âmon-ee-gawtâ, not âman-a-cot-eeâ, is a cooked macaroni tube, stuffed with a ricotta mixture like whatâs in ravioli, topped with tomato sauce, mozzerella, and grated cheese, then baked until the mozz melts.
A proud Paddy Murphy tells 5 yr. old Sean that he has the privilidge of saying the blessing at the extended familyâs St. Patrickâs Day dinner. Sean begins, âLord we thank you for the corned beef and for the cabbage. Thank you for the mashed âtatties. Thank you for the fruit salad and for the milk.â There is a long pause. Sean leans over to his father and whispers audibly, âIf I thank God for the broccoli, wonât he know that Iâm lying?â He didnât even ask about the manicotti.
Sometimes I can not get here everyday (yesterday was one), but I always look for your original comment when I do. It is now apparent you look through the priors every time you return.
mexdr1958 - Iâm guessing that she means the brideâs and groomâs families. Her âgirlfriendâ is the bride - sheâs probably the maid of honor.
Having the wrong underwear on interferes with oneâs ability to hit plaid speed when escaping evil aliens. Doesnât everybody know this, or am I the only one?

Ratatouille is not a pasta dish, rather it is an eggplant-based vegetable side dish.

Also thank Johanan Rakkav, I hadnât thought of that. except Calvinâ hair is blond, not red.

Very gullible, Spiffâs captors. Also seem to have done lot of research on making escaped prisoners return to prison!

Since weâre vegetarians, I made manicotti (from scratch) as our traditional Christmas meal each year. Itâs delicious!
