And again I say without apology: those of you who think Calvin deserves the least help from Suzie or anybody else at this point are out of your minds.
Not, of course, that Suzie is any better off fighting fire with fire. Those who live by the dirty little passed note, die by the dirty little passed note! :)
Good morning to all! At this pont it’s not a question of “if” but “when” they get married, isn’t it? It’s so obvious they are in love. All Calvin’s gotta do is the Tom Sawyer thing and take the punishment for her. By the way “Eep!”? That’sa great reaction!
Went to emails, opened my daily gocomics newsletter, see this is the only one. Figure, well that could be a glitch, go online, NOPE no Glitch! What’s up with this?
BTW, I forget how this plays out, but right now, I would say Calvin is a dead man walking!
the nice thing is that they WILL get married someday and make each other miserable for the rest of their lives! poor Hobbes will be their marriage counselor!
Calvin is bound to get into much-much deeper trouble, but he is accustomed to that and it does not worry him so much. At least he has some fun with Susie.
About Susie… Well, it is experience. It is quite useful to get into trouble now and then. Builds character, says Calvins dad. ;)
I don’t know which company owns/distributes which comics, but I’m seeing trouble on other sites also. Yesterday, the Washington Post comics page hadn’t updated some strips for Sunday, and today some haven’t been updated for Monday either. Not to mention a real crisis: Dear Abby hasn’t been updated for today! So there’s a glitch out there somewhere.
Lose the vinegar, Susie. Start serving honey and by recess you will have Calvin so confused he won’t know how to react … and You are the one with the completed project :) Bug - Off, Calvin!
It’s all over the place (lack of updates). All the news seems to be updating, but the comics and games aren’t. Miami Herald, USA Today, Washington Post, LA Times – all of their comics and games are either from yesterday or Saturday. I know a majority of this content is sourced from uclick.com – I wonder if that’s where the problem is.
Just kidding. But it is funny to see her squirm in a situation to which is so unaccustomed. And as the truth comes out, it will only reveal Calvin’s unpreparedness.
Susie, that kind of note could get Homeland Security swooping down on the school, at very least you’ll be suspended for 10 days for terroristic writtings. Good thing you didn’t shake your finger at him!
Yes but comics.com is for lack of a better description, breaking up, some of the strips are fuzzy, out of alignment, etc. You can’t really read some of them.
FAIR WARNING- finding where this is quoted from will expose you to profanity… don’t look if you’d rather not see it. I only quote it because it sums up my take on the whole thing quite nicely :) which is to say, sometimes “living your own life” and being your own person (something I value quite highly) means a trip (or ten) to the principals office, and every kid should make the journey at least once… If you follow every rule, you’ll never lead anything, not even yourself ;)
It’s not just bad luck Susie got caught. As mentioned in the previous incident, Calvin was aware that the teacher was not looking when he did his talking. Susie needs to learn to be smarter about when she misbehaves! Calvin could teach her a few things…
Susie’s face is as red as a beet!
She might have to acknowledge defeat.
What if she grovels at Wormwood’s feet,
She will at least get off the hot seat.
Suzie shouldn’t have responded. That’s what Calvin wants. He must be chortling. My guess is that his delight will be short-lived. Surely, Miss Wormwood will discover his note to Suzie.
Miss Wormwood is the real culprit here! She should be at least sufficiently familiar with her students to know who to blame in a situation like this – Calvin of course!!
Tho I have to admit it is kinda fun to watch Susie get her knickers in a twist over such a sweet poem from our boy Calvin.
And Ratlum – “cushy job” I think not – especially dealing with Calvin. I think Miss W is just too old for it.
The site WAS very slow today, and I read comics on 4 sites, so I went on to WaPo and did not get back here until after lunch- now it is sunset and I’ll be retiring soon. I just go with the flow ;-)
