Ive never been able to figure out why people have to make the bed everyday. it just gets messed up again at night.
My bed gets made when the cleaning ladies come, because it’s part of their job. Otherwise it gets made if I have company, but all my friends know that my bed wil lmost likely not be made if they come to visit.
I much prefer getting into a bed that isn’t all rumpled, but these new mattresses are so much heavier and thicker than older ones and that makes the job of making the bed more of a pain.
I do NOT make the bed - except when changing sheets, etc. The rest of the time I just pull the covers up over the sheets - what’s the point??? Unless BH&G is coming for a photo-shoot, I don’t care!
Kab Buch, my sheets are sized properly but when putting new sheets on, tucking them and blankets is tough because you have to lift the mattress and it’s a heavy son of a gun.
My Nana showed me the easy way to make the bed. You make the bed with you on top of it not stretching over it from the floor. It makes it much easier to put on a fitted pad and sheet if you kneel on top and lift the corners of the mattress that way and tuck stuff under it. The top sheets and the blankets you do the same way either laying down, kneeling, or standing on top, depending on your physical limitations or time restrictions in the morning. We have a queen size mattress so I know about a wide and heavy mattress.
“Martha Stewart has now left the building!”
For me, I have to make my bed every morning because there’s just something really comfy and cozy about getting into that nicely made bed every night that I simply cannot do without at the end of a long day!
I still think the way to do this is to ‘deputize’ a lot of the ‘older’ members and give ‘power of deletion’. Misuse it once and you lose it, and maybe your account.
My wife gets me to do hospital corners (except for the top spread) when making the bed after the weekly laundering. That keeps the sheets and blanket from pulling out at the bottom, and it only takes a few seconds to pull every thing (bed related) back into place the next morning, provided of course than there has been no hanky panky.

cleo just do what we did here buy bigger sheets. For us we don’t have room for a King size bed just Queen size for those pillow typ mattresses.

If you use a duvet, there’s virtually nothing to to making the bed – and it’s cozier and more comfortable than blankets anyhow.

i don’t know why calvin went to so much trouble. I agree with marilyn todd, made beds are soooo much more comfy B-P
