G’day Jason, Dry, JFri, Ottod, Meggsiefan, Frank and all Meggsie’s mates.
Now ain’t today’s Meggsie two gems in one offering! That graffiti is now down in my notebook. What a side-splitter!
Don’t expect anyone to believe this but an acquaintance of many years ago considered pulling the ‘shark’ gag in a City Hall. He had booked it for a show (of CB radio) but the participants opted out after it was too late to cancel the booking. Before he mentioned Plan B to me he actually had one ad. in a local paper declaring there would be a man eating shark on display at the hall on some date or other.
Talking him out of it is what I consider my finest hour in saving someone’s life.
Mind you, characters like that friend and Meggsie are the salt of the earth.
Does the “Brittney’s pears” part of the joke depend on Australian pronunciation? Because if it’s supposed to be a reference to Britney Spears, it doesn’t work for me. If I’m missing it altogether, I’d be grateful for help.
Comixavier - Shark is commonly eaten in Australia as “Fish and Chips.” Most times you order fish and chips in Australia you’re eating some variety of shark.

Today’s strip is in honour of James C Bancks. He had Ginger pull this prank nearly 80 years ago, and in his 90th year he’s still at it!

Amazing that Ginger’s dad is still eating shark - or anything else - at the age of, what? 140?

Glad someone could read the grafitti, because I couldn’t even at 150%. Of course my eyes “ain’t what they used to be” either!

Reminds me of a scene in the Little Rascals film. The kids are dressed up as adults and they promote at the fair a man eating chicken.
So, shark is a seafood specialty in Australia?
