Erm. He wasn’t a dictator. He was elected for a four year term. They deposed him early because he was trying to get a referendum on whether to have a referendum to allow a second term in their constitution in defiance of their congress and supreme court. He leans left, especially recently, and that’s why Chavez and his ilk support him.
See the trick is ONLY foreign country elections WE RIG are valid! Only RIGHT WING dictators are legitimate. Marxism and socialism are also NOT the same, but it will never sink in with Ramirez or the wing-nuts.
Huh?
He’s won 2 Pulitzers and yet cannot do some background research like TrickyPickle pointed out?
But yes, like parker said, lovely parrots. Unless there’s an ornithologist on this forum who can point out that those are the wrong colours for their feathers or something?
According to the leftists’ “logic”, Hitler, Mussolini, Franco and such, were and are right wing-nuts. And I suspect that some liberal ‘intellectuals’ would label Stalin, Ulbricht and other Fascists as right-wingers also, for Fascism itself has become synonymous with right wing conservatism.
Ergo, Socialism is antithesis of Marxism.
I guess that is why blue signifies Democrat while red identifies Republican leaning areas.
You see, it’s funny because he only listed Castro, Chavez, and Ortega with Obama, when in fact, the entire Organization of American States has called for the reinstitution of the democratically elected president of Honduras.
Tricky Pickle got it right. I should point out also that the referendum he was trying to get on the ballot would have been non-binding.
Sigh Stalin was not a fascist. A dictator yes but not a fascist. A major part of Nazi fascism was its core anti- communist attitude. Hitlers pact with Stalin over Poland was nothing more than a temporary piece of pragmatism. The word fascist has changed in common usage to where it has little specific meaning. Left and right wing are similar in that they have become too general and demonized by their various opponents to be specific descriptions of individuals.
None of this is an endorsement of fascism in any way. We return you to your scheduled diatribes.
“Democracy works until the military says it doesn’t.” Not sure that’s the case here. The governing political body and the Supreme Court had both ruled the referendum unconstitutional that close to an election. In defiance of this ruling, the Pres. ordered the army to assist in holding the referendum anyway. When the general in question refused to obey an illegal order, he was summarily sacked. I think the army played a role here to remove from power an occupant who was illegally using powers not granted to him by the constitution. I have not yet seen military control and I understand elections are to continue as planned. I just didn’t want to see the guy lumped with Chavez, who’s a very dangerous man in my opinion. I live a stone’s throw away from the guy, he scares me.

So sad. I heard Kissinger was just about to have him assassinated. Poor Henry, never gets to have any fun anymore.

“Marxism and socialism are also NOT the same”
Karl Marx defined Socialism as an intermediate step before Communism.

Nor would the referendum have gotten him reelected with his 30% approval ratings. “Democracy works until the military says it doesn’t.”
Why do you wingnuts hate democracy so much? :P
