What is it about workers or seniors wanting to file for SS at age 62. Why not wait until 65. My own hubby done that. Now he is 65 and lost out on the extra. Me I’m waiting.

Kab, some choose to start drawing early if they don’t expect to live past, say, 70. Also, full benefits are no longer paid at age 65; it’s currently around 66, and the age for full benefits is creeping upward to 67…and soon may go up to 70!

Once you start SS (you are forced to at 66), you are forced to purchase health insurance from Medicare. Unless you are rich enough to buy real health insurance on top of that, you are screwed. I’m doing my best to avoid ever getting seriously ill (raw food, exercise, etc), but it gets harder the older you get. I keep finding new horrors in Medicare. I know that doctors that take Medicare have restrictions in what they can do. Now Obamacare wants to force that kind of system on the young as well.

Hey Axe! Glad to see you and so many other familiar faces still here. Thanks for the update. I miss anything big? How is Uncle Walt? Still healthy, I hope!
