Well, where should it be hidden?

Hide it in plain sight, in the cookie jar under a heap of disgustingly stale whole wheat raising cookies.

My mother used to do that. We’d find it, wait patiently. Then a week or two would go by, by then mom forgot where she put it. She would say, “I know I bought some candy, but don’t know where it is. We’d say, mom, it’s in the second cabinet, bottom shelf. Location varried, but we KNEW where it was.

^Their mom didn’t buy them candy. She bought it for herself and hid it. The girls just did what any kid would do - they found it and helped themselves.

Back in the day, that’s exactly what we did. Only it was my dad, and he had his chocolate covered peanuts which he hid, and we found, on a regular basis.

It seems wrong to me for parents to eat chocolate themselves yet forbid their children to. If you don’t want them to have it, don’t buy it at all. Best to try moderation. Buy a little, and everyone shares. That’s what a treat is supposed to be.

And if you really want to keep something from your kids, don’t hide it – buy a safe and lock it up!

Uh, attics get pretty hot in summer. Not a great place to put chocolate…
