My mother made me wear my hair in a stupid bowl cut as a child, âUntil you can take care of your own hair.â I became Little Miss Responsibility after that. I STILL wear my hair long, and my daughters like their hair long as well.
@K.C.FahelMy hair was in a bowl cut until I started school, then I was allowed to let it grow out. Over the years it has ranged from waist (or slightly longer) length to ultra short punk style (before punk was punk). Iâve had long shags, short shags, pixies, page boys, bobs, layered, permed and heaven knows what else. But, even with HATING getting my hair cut, my one rule was it had to grow out nice, otherwise I would put up with the yuck factor and grow it back out again. As to Teenaâs haircut? As far as I can tell from âbeforeâ and âafterâ, this is what her original haircut looked like until it grew out. Besides, if Iâm not mistaken, the hair dresser originally just shaped it up a bit and Teena herself told her to cut it shorter. Iâve done that, even at her age, and just lived with it. You develop that withering stare when people tease you.
I donât think it looks too bad though I like her regular style better. As for hair stories, my mother always had my hair cut in a pixie style and I was the only girl with short hair in my class. I begged her to let me grow it out but the whole time it was growing she kept nagging me to wash it and keep it combed and pin the bangs back so they werenât in my face. It was worse than having it cut short.
