Maybe he should leave the stumping (along) to Winnie-the-Pooh (see Milne’s texts). Or departing from juvenilia, leave the stumping (and the sarcasm) to the politicians. :)
The Giving Stump–the Rodney Dangerfield of trees–no respect: Go ahead and sit on me. Pass some gas while you’re at it. I hope you get a splinter in your rump.
I was going to say something of the kind, but the remark seemed too easy and too cheap a shot. I’ll save that for the occasional Shoe thread, if anywhere.
Delightful smart-aleck take on Shel Silverstein’s poignant story (one of the few stories that’s ever brought tears to my cheerful, wisecracking husband’s eyes)!

Sarcasm is unbecoming in a stump…

Hi, Marg!

Some say sarcasm is the cheapest form of humor; I say it’s a bargain.

I believe The Giving Tree was translated into a special edition for the plant kingdom, called The Taking People.

Could someone please tell me how to change font here? I’m fairly computer literate but haven’t figured it out yet.

Hey Stumpy, be happy you still exist and be grateful that a stump grinder hasn’t been brought in to finish the job!

This reminds me of that one strip series that was a parody of The Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz, and a few other movies/ TV series.
They met a talking, walking tree, and over the course of several strips, reduced him to the size of a rat. Then Cliff needed toothpicks.

Sarcastic wood could but should try to be good wood.
