Irony is also lost, apparently, on conservative Christians. They ask for tolerance in using the word “Christmas” and complain that they are being singled out this time of year, without realizing that it’s their own past history of marginalizing all of the other religious beliefs this time of year that has caused so much of the trouble.

When Christians had the bully pulpit in (for instance) the schools, and the daily prayers were out of their story book, they never said a thing about tolerance. If Jews or Muslims asked for a little equal access for their beliefs, they were often told to shut up and sit down. When Atheists asked to be excluded, they were taunted and harassed.

When these other groups realized their voices were never going to be included, they pushed back. The end result was “if you don’t let us have our say, we’ll take away your say.”

Now the Christians complain because they no longer have the only say, and often nobody gets to say anything. They consider that unconstitutional intolerance, and the irony is that it’s their own doing.

I think that it’s cool that they kept the root ball on the tree so they could stick it back in the ground.

I rrmember a town that had a giant menorah up, and a not so giant tree. The Christians screamed about how they were belittling Xmas. yet if the other way around, they’d be telling the Jews to stuff it.

the wires been uncrossed, The tables have turned. How doe sit feel Christians? Ooh, how does it feel?
