Cool. “Izmennik rodiny” is a Russian insult meaning “traitor to the Motherland.”

Now I’m being entertained AND learning Russian insults! Comics are fun.

Volga, Volga, mat’ rodnaya, Volga russkaya reka, Nye vedala tiy podarok Ot donskovo kazaka!

That’s all I have left of two years of college Russian.

(“Volga, Volga, mother of the nation, Volga, Russian river, You’ve never seen such a gift From a DON Cossack!”

That’s from a famous Russian folksong “Eeza Ostrova na Strehzhen” about a Volga Cossack chieftain who drowns a kidnapped woman in the river when his men mock him for spending so much time with her and turning into a woman himself. I’ll take “Home on the Range” any day.)

After that, I would never eat Ludmilla’s meatloaf. Come to think of it I wouldn’t have eaten it before either.
