The Vampireâs Lament is getting edgy. Heâd rather be human? Look what happened to Nick Knight when he tried to regain his humanity (Forever Knight).
@ Steve Remembers -
If you like the John McCrea poem you should track down the Herman Melville version, âMalvern Hillâ. Written to commemerate one of the lesser known battles of the Civil War, published in 1866. Iâve always wondered if there was a connection to the McCrea poem, especially the last line in the Meville poem.
Thank you Dypak. Iâve heard of Malvern Hill, but not the poem. The ânature conquers allâ theme is certainly there, and McCrea would have read Melville. (Heck, even Iâve read âBilly Budâ and tried to get into âMoby Dick!â)
