AW just leave him there. He has enough anti-freeze in him to embalm a horse. He won’t feel the cold.

I thought John left early. John, a lesson learned before Elly gets home. ( do not go out with Ted, do not go out with Ted, do not go out with Ted, do not go out with Ted).

John knew going out with Ted was going to stink - it was obvious! It’s like the one dumb cluck at the mexican restaurant; when the waitress tells him the plate is hot he just HAS to touch it.

I’m sure he’s learned that lesson now. If he goes out with Ted again he’s a glutton for punishment.

Similar situations, but not nearly as funny as Andy Capp.

No bald, I think (as do stonehenge1951 and Gweedo) that John should simply leave Ted where he is: he has his jacket on, which will protect him from both cold and wet of snow.

Why are losers always drawn to winners? John is a WINNER, big time.

I think John, being the nice guy that he is, stayed so he could get Ted home safely. I feel sorry for Ted’s mom because she has to put up with this jerk.

Feel sorry for mom? Who hasn’t kicked him out by now? She’s just going to blame John for the whole situation.

Both of men are drunk like Andy Capp and Charlie and arrive after midnight. Don’t make any lame excuses like Andy always keeps making more lame excuses all the times!

John won’t leave Ted lying in the snow unless he’d like to suggest an entry for The Darwin Award for Evolution in Action (Wikipedia: Awards have been given for people who “do a service to Humanity by removing themselves from the Gene pool”). But we wouldn’t like to see anything like that happen, would we.

I like NotNormanChubsyUbsy’s suggestion of laying Ted in the gutter.

Or, an amended version (the amendment pilfered from Mary E. Pierce novel The Two Farms), lay Ted in the gutter and cover him with a horse-blanket!

Mama’s boy is a loser. Let mama come out to get him and put him to bed. Lesson learned, leave drunks to their own devices - alone.

Remember this strip is set in North Bay Ontario. Leaving Ted out in the cold would amount to murder!

plus4, well, is there much tradition of total jerks in this strip? I don’t see Ted a such a horrible jerk, he’s just sort of a sad excuse for a man. Who else has been so bad? Remember this woman who used to work in Elly’s book store and then there was April’s friend - who was exactly what you say you miss, a flawed human.
