love to cook, and now that I have the time I do a lot of it. But with a toddler & a preschooler as well as a puppy Ellie doesn’t have the time to do as much as it seems she would like. Time will come… Nothing like a big chunk of good cheese with fresh from the oven crusty bread, except maybe some really dark chocolate to go with…..
In our household, the cook does not have to clean up.
I put in that rule when both kids were in school and I started working outside the home. I thought the kids would do the clean up, but my husband did instead. After my first impulse to tell him to make the kids to get busy, I decided that he was a big boy. If he didn’t want to make them do it, that was his problem.
I use knife/scissors a lot when I’m doing cooking (frozen veggies–if new non-ziploc-style bag; though knife also handy for fresh ones) and pressure-cooker (nice for cooking pulses/legumes and also rice–especially when stacked with Indian interior vessels) and some cookpots/frypans
My wife uses knife (doesn’t like frozen veggies, only fresh), pressure cooker and some cookpots/frypans.
Can-opener gets once-in-blue-moon usage (when we need to use coconut milk in a dish, or when I prepare a “shortcut” version of kheer using evaporated and condensed milks).

Same here when it’s my turn to cook.

It is fun to cook, the trick is to only get appliances that you will actually use.

I prefer the telephone, with which I can make delicious reservations. Just not very often.

What exactly does Congress have to do with a strip about kitchen appliances in a Canadian comic?

I like restaurant kitchens! They cook, they serve and they clean-up. All I have to do is get there and enjoy.
