I once sat on an aluminum bench for hours at an NCAA football game that was being “delayed” because of the “lightning rule” (which I didn’t know at the time…) The game was eventually postponed to a later date; the skies have to be lightning-free for 30 minutes to allow the game to be played.
So, despite all evidence to the contrary, NCAA football officials CAN see lightning and hear thunder!
