And we all know how well Dr. Mel’s ethic-free progress has benefited everybody. Clearly, society shouldn’t impose any limits!

As long as you don’t kill any human embryos to get its cells, which they don’t have to; hospitals maternity wards dispose of LOADS of these cells every day when they incinerate the umbilical cords and placentas of new-born babies. Also, from what I’ve read, ADULT stem cell research is more promising, for 2 reasons: 1. You can take them from the person that is going to be treated by them, so their body isn’t going to reject them. 2. Frankly, Dutchboy1, it sounds like you’ve read one of the books written with a strong bias toward fundamentalist religion. That doesn’t jibe with the many monographs published in mainstream scientific journals on the same subject.

That’s just how it appears to me, and I admit stem cell research and embryology to both be WAY outside my fields of expertise.

Hey Roger, the only bias the author has is for accurate science, he has no connection to religion.
