I guess Locher (or Rubin/Whigham) has explained what the favor is that Tess was asking Jabba for what seemed like months ago.

Diet’s inner thoughts at that moment: “How am I ever going to get my secret robot cow completed with all these interruptions? Igor! Where’s that electronic udder I asked for a week ago? Igor!!!”.

Definitely a new artist. Locher warned him (them) not to show fingers, as we are LETHAL! UNFORGIVING! Locher must have also told the artist to stick with the 9-button cellphone, even though the CIA agent is making an inter-office call. Hope we aren’t paying for his minutes!

Do they package milk in containers so small ? Lools like Locher is “training’ his new stand-in artist (Whigham?) to produce perfect replicas of his art (No “changes” allowed, that’s Locher’s area of expertise). Wigham is an apt pupil, note the uniformity in “Diet’s” panel. Small container, stumpy fingers and ‘matching’ short tie. Noticed too that the ‘credits’ for Gil Thorp are not in the strip but names Rubin and Whigham appear on the side of a panel, just like they now do in Dick Tracy.

If you look to the right you’ll see this: “Although many remember him with fond nostalgia, Dick Tracy, now written and illustrated by Dick Locher, continues to be relevant as he combines old-fashioned values with 21st century innovation to capture corporate crooks, computer pirates, polluters, skyjackers, gang members and terrorists.”

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Ludwig, you forgot to include, “while using the latest crime-fighting technology from the exciting 1950’s!”

At least Wigham is using up all that old leftover ink.

RE: Rubin & Whigham

I have no confirmation of any kind that they have replaced or are in the wings to replace Dick Locher on the current strip. It could just be a mistake that has been overlooked now for several days. I recall this happening with other strips here @ gocomics.com.

Oooh ooh, I bet that tomorrow Tess will reveal that she called Diet to test the formula but he said that he couldn’t help her!! Do you guys remember that happening? That happened like five times about three weeks ago. Ah, fond memories.

How convenient! I was thinking it was a hybrid carton with a little loop handle like a coffee mug. LOL
