I can not find anything resembling a duck anywhere. What is with the coloring on the strip today? Tracy looks great in panel 5, but B. O. is glowing. And Gertie’s arm is just weird in fluorescent panel 6. Not good to say something smells in a strip containing a character called B. O. . Crimestoppers Textbook has become “So You Wanna Be A Gambler?”
Maybe the little squiggle in Tracy’s overcoat, at the bottom left of the last panel, could be a yellow duck bill? New artist, new way of representing the ducky?
I can honestly say I am pleased that the hat is back on Dick!!! The artwork has been better overall, still some arm/hand issues, but no big deal. The coloring on the strip is pretty garish and ugly, but it has been for a long time. I prefer it in B&W.
And all this time I thouht this would be a letter of suspension or dismisal for not coming to work. He hasn’t even had time to comlain about the non-arrival of 911 and the Ambulance for Noll.
Las seen at HQ on Dec. 13th, Tracy arrived home to Tess on Dec.15th and hasn’t been to work since. Work must be a stranger in the suburb of Naperville. Yes! I know comic strip time is different to real time, but heck! We’re talking about THREE months and a week heading well into FOUR months.
On the “positive” side, The Author (not sure which “genius”) has brought back the yellow Fedora for the end of winter and spring.
Then, what I truly liked was the seeming intervention of “another” problem, with the credit card. This is a smidgen of what old Dick Tracy was like.
Of course, Tess has had a pathological facination with “smelling” things recently.
Darn! I just can’t find the rubber duckie today. May be a sign that Brozman is now doing the art.
barticle35 says:
“The ducky/mammary is in plain sight above B.O’s hat”
I thouught so too barticle35, then discarded it … too incomplete/obscured. I even thought perhaps the light on the face and mouth of Tons (panel 3), the edge of the left B.O. shoulder (panel 6) part of Jack’s nostril smoke (panel 2) even Jack’s hair.
But none are conclusive to this one-eyed Jack. Perhaps new artist, and the duck has taken “wing” on a migration flight (?)
@CaptainColorado - I agree with you in general, but I know people that gamble as entertainment. One guy takes $800, gets the free room and air fare from the casino (in Vegas), and stays until the $800 is gone - or a week, whichever comes sooner. I would call that responsible gambling. I would hate it personally - the atmosphere at a casino is not exactly “wholesome”.
Ludwig, Perhaps in between sniffing perfume, her Internet shopping was for a ring of “BUMP KEYS” for Dick for Christmas.
Open any lock !
You’ve heard of them haven’t you?
On the other hand Dick’s credit card may have paid for all those unused perfume bottles and packaging etc. Real costs, more than just his name.
Where is GROK today. Missed his morning’s “silver bullet”!

You “flaunt” your winnings. You “flout” the law. I’m sure Locker knows this, but the thug would not. Nice dialog touch. I hope.

Hey Tess! Maybe it’s Tracy’s clothes. If you knew who he’s been standing next to all week, it would be obvious.

To Crimestoppers Textbook: I have a better idea - don’t gamble!

Since Tracy is barely ever home Tess is the one making credit card purchases. A little internet shopping for some “personal” items, perhaps?
Good to see the hat back. Now if we could get a new writer I’d have more faith.

I see that our henchman has moved up in status in the space of a few frames. Before, it was always “Boss”. Now, he’s “Jack.”
And what’s with Jack’s outfit? He looks like something out of an old Flash Gordan cartoon.
