The drawing style in the third panel is totally inconsistent with the first two panels.

Gertie is a whole new woman today. I barely recognize her.

It most be a new art style from Brozman, same thing happened to two of B.O’s fingers in panel one yesterday.

Owlsly Whistlepig, I will not “siy back” and not say anything. This strip deserves much better than it’s being given by Mr. Locher.

Those moneybags B.O. is holding look like water balloons.

Counterfeiting! The casino is using BO to pass counterfeit money! But then, how do they get their investment back? Never mind, just thinking out loud.

Notice also that the phone had a cord yesterday, but now it’s cellular.

This strip is like one of those puzzles where you have to spot all the differences between two pictures! We’re not nitpicking, we’re solving the puzzle!

margueritem, Those “dollar” signs can’t be “seen” by Gertie and B.O. They’re not unlike those C.I.A. license plates and In-room signs. They’re intended only to help little Johnny sitting on Daddy’s knee while the strip is read, to understand that there is “money” in the those bags

Cougar Allen’s reference to “money in sacks” suggests it’s time to have a “three lemon talk” with Dick Locher! ( I confess that three posts before I said that “money” was IN the sacks, but that was by way of explaining the Author’s intention for the dollar “signs”).

LEMON # 1, On 3-07-09 B.O. is seen asking for, and buying “tokens”

LEMON # 2, On the same date he is seen “using” them to play the “slot machine”, and wins a Jackpot of tokens! Subsequently he wins more “tokens”!

LEMON # 3, Did he put the “TOKENS” in a bag and take them home? Or did he “cash them in” and recieve a cheque in settlement?

Locher needs to tell us WHAT B.O. has in those bags in his basement, Tokens? Cheques? Couldn’t really be Coins, could it?

Locher’s “answer” may be “LEMON” # 4 ! There’s a “history” of this sort of thing (“Lemons”?), in his version of Dick Tracy!
