Why don’t they do like Calvin and Hobbs or the Peanuts strip and just start Dick Tracy right back at the beginning in the Chester Gould years? They could go on for years and years doing that and make Dick Tracy more popular than ever.

Amazingly, Mattie has drawn all the comments away from the strip and now have them focused on himself. Maybe he just wants a little attention.

Or even the Fox Trot comic strip? Start over.

Where Locher to leave now, he’d be going out on the “backside”of the most boring and poorly structered Dick Tracy story I’ve seen in sixteen years. His contract runs until end 2010, but these days it’s like the current story …
