Wonder if the story is gonna be a rehash of the story of Major General Smedley Butler, and the plot to depose FDR…

Aha! So Rupert Murdoch is head of the Blue Circle. Just as I suspected!

Is there an actual story arc going on here, or just a series of vignettes? Does the Xaxos story have anything to do with the Ranch story or this Blue Circle story??

Oh No! A newspaper owned by someone who has a stake in public opinion, and is trying to manipulate it in his own self interest. What would Brenda Starr think?

If you wait long enough all the loose ends will come together.

This is where Sandy’s Trainer gets Grimm to retire with dignity.

So… a general, an advanced (if completely nuts) AI, a powerful laser developed by Warbucks.. might just be me, but it seems like the lead-up to bringing in James Bond. Or turning Annie in to a CIA agent…

yes, if one wants to gripe about plot lines and such, go to dick tracy—it almost unanimous over there that the plots are less than perfect…….these guys (Maeder & Slampyak) know what they’re doing….this is one of the best strips going …

incidentally, does anyone know if ‘annie’ is still syndicated to newspapers?

I enjoy Annie. The plots are far fetched and fun. The drawings are consistant. What’s not to like?

For the primo example of a bad comic, see ‘Dick Tracy’, as nighthawks said.

What if the “Blue Circle” joined forces with the “Yellow Circle”?

Maybe Xaxos is gone now, and that was his closure? Grimm is about to work for the bad guys.

From 9 years ago: “Actually I think the ongoing saga of the last year or so is one of the best comics I’ve ever read. If you wait long enough all the loose ends will come together.” We are still waiting. Please bring Annie back.
