My girlfriend and I were just sitting around one day, and out of the blue she said, “You know, if we can put up with dating each other for a year, why don’t we move in together?”
I said, “Well, if we’re going to move in together, why not just handfast (get married)?”
“Okay.”
And that was that. By some standards, not very romantic by some standards, but it worked for us.
Yeah, this’d work: “I wanna marry you, not because I love you or even care about you all that much, but because it makes economic sense, and my Cherry Garcia won’t melt.”
That he loves her is a given. These other things are icing on the cake. And the fact that he appreciates these things bodes well for the relationship. I know I did. But, in my case, it wasn’t enough for her. I really miss those things. “Hey darlin’, come look at this thing on my…..”
