His cancer or the pain of his cancer? If his cancer was alleviated that would be pretty impressive.

According to what i’ve heard somebody fed the dog, and took care of him.Side note, I have heard of a similar story from China or Japan.

Similar dog story at Great Falls, Montana. As I recall, his grave was visible from the Western Star. (1960s)

After his presidency Grant was left with huge debts. He wrote his biography while slowly dieing from throat cancer. He managed to get them done in time and Mark Twain published them. Grant’s biography was a huge seller and he was able to die without leaving his family penniless.

Does anyone remember that Walt Disney made a movie about little Bobby in the early sixties? It goes to show that a dog’s love is never-ending. If only humans had that kind of love!

No, he ate… he just went back every day for the next ten years until he died. The dog’s name was Hachiko, and he was an akita inu. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachik%C5%8D
