Great art again, but once again, GoComics colorist does no justice to it, no justice to it all. I’ve seen the original black and white previewed on the Yahoo Group, and it’s a wow, a real testament to Mr. Staton’s skills (and Mrs. Pleger’s as well, the inker does not get enough credit). Their rendition of the Pouch in the original B&W is just incredible.

A lot of people have brought up the fingerprints thing from the original story (which memorably led to poor Officer O’Malley’s demise). Of course, those files which he had obtained (hijacked from a truck when a sheriff’s office was being moved) were most likely recovered when B-B Eye was ‘killed’ all those years ago. However, he certainly has lost none of his wariness…I’m excited to see what happens next!
That face reminds me of a cousin for a few days. We used to have the kerosene fired heaters for cattle watering tanks, ie sink with a rock add kerosene (dripping from a tank) and ignite with a match tossed in. This one wasn’t igniting, so cousin Donald looks down the chimney to see why. For a second, he looked like he was looking down the barrel of a connon!

If I was a kid, I’d be afraid to buy a balloon from someone that looks like Pouch!

So the officers patrolling the park haven’t noticed the weirdo balloon man matches the wanted poster in the precinct?

Even when the daily strip is just set up, it’s still pretty good.

I’m impressed at the Pouch’s staying power! He’s like Wo Fat was to Steve McGarrett!
