Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for June 18, 1990
Transcript:
Calvin: Can I be excused? There's a TV show I want to see. Mom: We're still eating dinner, Calvin. Calvin: I'm through. This stuff was awful. I want to go watch television. Mom: It's impolite to leave the table in the middle of a meal. Calvin: So what am I supposed to do? Just sit here and watch you guys chew?! I'll miss my show! Mom: Your TV show isn't as important as spending some time together as a family. Calvin: We'll compromise. I'll go watch a sitcom family. Dad: In a minute you're going to discover the difference between those and real life.
