Luann by Greg Evans and Karen Evans for April 18, 2008
Transcript:
"Mom, do you think Ben's too old for me?" "Since you ask, yes, I do. I didn't say anything because... well, I didn't want to be a disapproving nag" "But the age difference between me and Ben is less than between you and Dad. How do you justify that? Isn't that a bit hypocritical?" "I'm a hypocritical disapproving nag"

Wow, Lev, that was really interesting. I didn’t know how that worked, exactly. I thought Ben was too old for Luann, too, at the ages they are now. If Luann was about 21 and Ben was 26, not so bad (though Luann will probably be immature then like she is now). Like how Nancy was what, about 23, and Frank was 30 when they got together. She was a bit young for him then, but in a few years it doesn’t matter much. It matters a lot more when you’re younger—and older.

For the record, I personally would Prefer Luann with Ben than with some, let’s say… smarmy Aussie who grins more than TJ… for example

As people get older, age differences change. A romance between a 37 year old and a 27 year old, people shrug. Between a 27 year old and a 17 year old and eyebrows would raise to the top of the head. Between a 17 year old and a 7 year old, the 17 year old would be hauled off to jail! But there’s 10 years difference each time.
